We finished our 5 night trip to Morocco with 2 nights at the Riad Reves D'Orient which is right in the heart of the Medina , yet tucked away deep inside a local cul de sac. The Riad itself has a charming interior and our suite (Saphir) was the biggest in the Riad with 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom. Mohammed is a kind and helpful host. Wholesome breakfasts were served at the desired time each morning. The rooms have aircon and heating which we needed on one of the nights when Marrakech was really cold. We were able to leave our luggage with them on the last day after check out and they kindly and safely held onto it. My only gripes with the Riad were that the Wifi was intermittent and they have conveniently shut off the spa tub on their terrace (if you want to use one, it is at an extra cost at their hammam nearby). While the area itself is very quiet, Riads themselves are not very sound proof so you can be disturbed easily if people are coming and going late at night (this is not the fault of Riad Reves D'Orient , just a tip if you want a quiet night).
Ideal place if you want to be in the heart of it all. Nice staff but it is all about the money! You even have to pay £10 per person to use the jacuzzi! But when your a family of 5 that is a lot of money!! We didn't have to pay after arguing that this wasn't made clear! Everything at the hotel is over priced, water, food etc but I think that's because your in the heart of Marrakesh! We just didn't use any of this, walk outside and it's much cheaper! But saying all this, we did enjoy our stay, glad we only done 3 days then moved to another hotel and that was a totally different experience and a lot cheaper! Staying at this hotel you get a real feel of the hustle and bustle and if your coming to Marrakesh you need to see it! The people we met were all lovely and willing to help!
Fantastic Riad. Beautiful place, an oasis of calm amongst the manic streets of the medina. Lovely building, rooms are fantastic, even the scent in the building is great. The manager was great, arranged our airport pick up and talked to us about the local area. The mint tea on arrival is a lovely touch. Breakfast was fantastic and was served at whatever time we requested up on the roof terrace. The eggs with salt and cumin are a little treasure. Location for the Riad is also just a short walk to the main square. Definitely recommend staying here.
