The host are both wonderful! Rana is a tremendous cook who’s breakfast are delicious. Gaerth is so knowledgeable about the area and gave us ideas of things to see and great places to eat!

Wonderful hotel, small, but perfect. The hosts were so helpful. A great breakfast and we found everything we needed in our room, biscuits, variety of teas etc, dressing gowns and slippers.. Highly recommend, would definitely go again. A real gem.

This is a perfect spot to stay if you come by car and want to explore the Snowdonia National Park. Rana and Gareth are the most personal and service minded hosts you can ever wish for keeping the room tidy and even equipping it with whatever extra things you might need. We got a room with a door to the back garden with birds singing outside. Rana makes the most delicious breakfast servings of everything from salmon and scrambled eggs to plentiful settings of waffles with fresh fruit and tasty toppings. Gareth will suggest, and also help you book, nearby restaurants, give you a weather forecast and any hike advice you might need. We already plan for our next visit. You will also want to come back after your first visit ✨

We spent 5 days at Afon Gwyn. We loved our stay. The hosts were kind and friendly and welcoming. They took great pride in running the establishment and were keen to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. The breakfast was superb. Plentiful, fresh and wonderful coffee.

Wow! Where to start? This has been our best all-round hotel experience in the last 10 years! Gareth and Rana are the most wonderful hosts. From the moment we arrived, with a welcome drink, to the warm, genuine conversations and a hug goodbye on departure, they made us feel incredibly welcome. Our room, Rupert, was just perfect. Spacious, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could need. The bed was so comfortable that it wasn’t easy to leave in the mornings… but you really must, because the breakfasts are absolutely delicious! We tried the full menu (which is pre-booked the evening before), and the quality and taste of the food was simply delectable. It’s the little things that also make such a difference. They noticed we had some water and soft drinks in the storage area, and by the next morning, a fridge had appeared in our room! Such a thoughtful touch and hugely appreciated. The location is also perfect for Betws-y-Coed and exploring the mountains to the west. Just a wonderful overall experience from start to finish. Thank you again and we will definitely look forward to seeing you both again next year.

My son and I stayed at Afon Gwyn late August for 3 nights with the intention of climbing Snowdon and to visit other local attractions. The hosts Gareth and Rana were lovely from start to finish. I really enjoyed chatting with both of them about all sorts of things and they were so helpful throughout our stay. I remember Gareth saying ‘we are a bed and breakfast and it is essential we get those two things right’ and they certainly did. The breakfast is without doubt amazing. The full English clearly has everything clearly sourced from quality local providers and I recall my 21 year old son saying ‘I wish I could have breakfast like this everyday dad’. Then there’s the beds. We stayed in the Robinson room and Gareth kindly arranged for the twin beds to be ready and made up before our arrival. Both my son and I slept very well every night and were ready for the day ahead. Gareth and Rana take great pride and passion into doing everything they can to ensure your stay is a memorable one for all the right reasons and would stay there again without question if travelling to Snowdonia. I look forward to having seeing you guys again one day and this time if Rana’s lucky she might get Adam to do some washing up in the kitchen, hehe. Thank you both of you.

Absolutely superb stay highly recommended

We stayed here for two nights whilst doing some local hiking. We cannot recommend this place highly enough for the moment we arrived to the time we left they were super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!
