The lake is pretty especially on the far side where you can see the flowers, lake and Fuji. There are some great restaurants; Shaw's sushi was the best. We were happy to see a lot of Fuji. You can buy a day pass for the public bus and hop on and off.

Beautiful lake & plenty of dining options nearby. There's a Toyota Rent A Car where we rented a car to drive around the areas to explore. Lucky us got to experience the breathtaking fireworks at Lake Kawaguchiko, their summer festival.

Recommend that visitors buy Enjoy Pass from Shinjugu express bus terminal, which includes round trip tickets for highway bus and a ticket for 2-day local bus. Also has 10% discount of entrance fees of places most tourists go.

Buy combi tickets of bus + Appare boat ride + ropeway for good value. Ropeway ride to the top is a MUST! You can get fabulous view of Mt Fuji there.

Fujikawaguchiko is a bit overrun with tourists, so I would definitely stay again at one of the more quiet lakes like Lake Shoji...

Great town. I was there with my 7 and 9 year old for 5 days and it was not enough time. We enjoyed hiking Mt Fuji, picking blueberries and enjoyed the local street food and food shops.

Kawaguchiko is amazing. I will need to get to some other lakes, but this is my third time here and I still am impressed. On the bus driving in I was next to a young man who was seeing this for the first time. I still have that same enthusiasm.

Lots of interesting things to see but over-touristed and crowded with insufficient red, green and blue loop buses to cope with all the crowds

You can see mt fuji from just about anywhere. Day trip is enough to do everything, probably no need to stay overnight

"This was our top stay inclusive of hotels in Tokyo, Lake Kawaguchiko, and Kyoto. So special to be beside the lake, have our own private onsen, and have dinner served right in our room.
This hotel and experience was everything we imagined and hoped for."
"A really lovely hotel with a great view of Mt Fuji. We had a good size room with a balcony, I loved just sitting on the balcony with a coffee. We added the evening taster dinner which was excellent. The breakfast was just as good. It was a 20 minute walk from the bus station, but used the free shuttle bus on the day we left to get us back to the bus station. Overall an excellent stay and would recomment it."
"I loved the view of the lagoon. The person who served us dinner was very kind and polite. She explained everything to us and set our table beautifully."
"Located at the top of a short, but very steep hill. They run a shuttle service to/from the train station though. Room was large and comfortable, and the views are wonderful. I would stay here again. "
