2/10 Poor

This room we booked was awful. The windows have crack and no protection from bugs, mosquitos. I was not able to sleep and I was literally crying from the bites. We checked out 1 day early. Also people are just seeing tourists as money target, we asked hotel manager to help us booking a tour for vinales and they told us 100$ and at the end of the day they put us in a situation to pay additional 160$ charge for the car. The only thing hotel manager did nice, she exchange the money with fair rate.

The staff here are so friendly! Very hospitable. They made coffee for us and didn’t charge us for leaving a bit later than we intended. The view from the room was incredible. Would have loved some free wifi in the room, but still a great place to stay. Recommend!

Cockroach in the closet
Lots of bugs, lizard. And Saw a huge cockroach in their closet in the late night. OMG! The stairway to level 6 is scary. Some people got robbed in the neighborhood! Also the owner just want to take money from you. Ask if you want taxi, expensive breakfast or 5$ daily wifi. The view is good. But lots of noise all day all night since it’s next to the main road.

Beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff. The owner, Doralys, is amazing. She is kind, caring, and noble. The rooms with a view of the Florida Strait are beautiful. Sunsets are surreal. Malecon Ave has a festive nightlife on the weekends, be prepared!. The hotel serves a delicious breakfast and/or lunch for a small price. The cook, Mili, is ultra sweet. The community is impoverished, but the people are full of life and rich in culture. They are very nice and it is safe to travel. Please bring gifts for the people. Especially the children. Crayons, jacks, cards, games, pencils, soap, towels, clothing, combs, etc. A little goes a long way. If you smoke cigars, they are crazy expensive because they lost their tobacco crop in the last hurricane. Please note that the Partagas factory has relocated and is no longer on Barcelona and Amistad. Locals may try to trick you and tell you they work there and sell you counterfeit cigars or old cigars. If you are visiting from the US, bring cash. Your credit cards are not accepted. As of July 2023, the dollar is worth 120 cuban pesos at the airport and most restaurants, but you can find places that will give you 200 cuban pesos if you ask someone you trust. Do not make any donations to government facilities! You can get into trouble. Invest in a water bottle that will purify the water against both chemical and germ contaminants. I bought a Grayl on Amazon, and it was great. Bring mosquito repellant. Dress in light colored linens.

Doralis and her team are very welcoming, helpful and professional. I was there for a long weekend and my stay there was great: the property is conveniently located right on Malecón, within walking distance of Old Havana/Central Havana/Morro and main areas of the city. Easily accessible to get to. Perks: amazing ocean views, very generous breakfast and wifi connection. It is an old building but the property is well kept for Havana standards, room is clean and tidy. Staff is very flexible and helpful (no matter what time of the day you come in, they are there for you). They go beyond their way to make you feel at home. It def. made my Havana experience better!

Dorales the manager is excellent. Magnificent views. Buys creepy old lady who scowls at guests. More like a private room in a family home. Wifi didnt work as the 7 family members use up the bandwidth.

2/10 Poor

For those not familiar with Cuba, this is not a hotel. This is privately owned area on the 6th floor of the building. Entrance to the building is very dirty and smelly, elevator is old and rusty. It feels like you are in a horror movie. I ended up staying for one night only and left the property to go stay at another location.
