2/10 Poor

it was very poor, the thermostat to control the room temperature was out on the landing and it controlled 3 different rooms, I found our room hot so I turned the thermostat down before we went out for the evening, came back to find the room still hot, someone had moved the thermostat back up, presumable someone from one of the other rooms?? We then turned on the ceiling fan which must have been 50 years old, a big cast iron type fan, well the noise was unbearable, it was like a jumbo jet taking off. Next we were in their bar, I had been drinking the same drink all evening and paying as I go till the second to last drink as the waitress dropped our drinks off then disappeared without giving us the bill so I could pay, by the time she decided to come back over we had finished our drinks and my wife decided to go upstairs to the room, I asked the waitress for one more drink and asked her to give me the tab for it and the last ones, well shock horror, she charged $21.00 for each Jack Daniels I was drinking and $18.00 for the tequila my wife had as her last drink, when I asked her about why it was $21.00 when she decided to run me a tab when it was only $14.00 when I was paying as I went, she informed me they put 3 Jack Daniels in my glass, I told her I never asked for 3 drinks in the one glass I was told well that's what we did, I paid it and went up to bed, we then found out there were huge trucks going up and down the road outside our room all through the night honking their ho

Awesome place!
What a beautiful inn! We enjoyed our stay. We loved the fact that the breakfast was via voucher at a local restaurant.

The Prince Solms is, once again, our favorite place for a getaway. The staff is unfailingly kind and attentive, and the piano bar downstairs is dynamite. A new treat is the Muck and Fuss restaurant next door, which boasts a remarkable menu and delicious food. I expected to dislike the addition because the old-fashioned charm is the reason we go back, but we found the change to be a positive one. And yes, the walls are thin-but that is just the way it is!

Historic hotel near the centre of New Braunfels
Very clean hotel right next to the centre of town. Parking on site and a voucher for breakfast at a diner down the street. The owners seem to be opening a burger and craft beer joint next door in a couple of weeks.

The historic feel of the place was nice. Very clean, very friendly personnel. The only issue was the shower head was really low in the shower. I made it work but a tall person would really have a problem. I would definitely stay there again and recommend the place to someone else.

Vacation
Great place to stay. No need to drive after a long day on the river, this place is within an easy walking distance to restaurants and nightlife venues. We rented the entire place for 9 couples and an awesome time.

2/10 Poor

Poor Experience
Hello, I stay at this hotel every year. I have reunions, romantic getaways, and birthday get-togethers as often as I can and have ALWAYS loved my experience at this hotel. This year was not anywhere close to the same experience. We came for my birthday, floated during the day, and had a code to get in around 5pm. Our Hotel had all the trashcans (Like four big ones) out on the front porch, and a broken sign on our table out there too. Dust was reflecting off the walls when the lamps were on, and there was no window cover into the kitchen or back entrance. Without doors separating the main room and the living room, this was very uncomfortable and really made us feel like we had no privacy. Further, I was not informed that the Jazz bar was closed (which is my main attraction) even though I emailed prior to find out. No response. ALSO, no one was working AT ALL. No one in the hotel AT ALL at anytime. Would not have been a big deal except I was also not informed that the breakfast would not be available. Another main attraction for me. You would think that in the end of August, while the river is still packed full of people, that they would be making sure amenities were there. This junky cabin mixed with all the missing pieces of a charming vacation has made me decide to go elsewhere for all following years.

Quaint and comfortable
Really enjoyed the experience at Prince Solms. The owners and staff were all great! It is a quaint, comfortable property with lots of history. Perfectly situated between downtown shopping and Schlitterbahn and there are deer roaming everywhere around the area. Their new restaurant and basement jazz bar open next month. They gave us a tour of both and we cant wait to go back next year. Great stay!!!

Love this place
Upon arrival they were waiting for us. I emailed them days prior and let them know what time we would be there. She had set up our code and explained that due to renovations we would get vouchers for breakfast. We have stayed here before and really enjoyed This hotel so chose to come back. This hotel holds a lot of history and its antique decor is cute. You can walk to a few local pubs and the Comal river is a very short distance. The staff is so friendly and makes you feel at home. We will always choose to stay here when we come to float the river.

Definitely recommend the Prince Solms Inn
Adorable B&B. Great location with a cool history. I will definitely be back. The on sight dining wasnt up and running yet so they gave us a voucher for breakfast at a nearby restaurant.

Under Construction
Need curtains. The building is under construction. Didn't clean our room the 2 nights we stayed. Need to update balcony and install comfy chairs. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and the AC worked great! Close to everything. Had to walk to our free $10 breakfast, which was fine. Enjoyed the walk. Look forward to staying again when construction is complete.

2/10 Poor

Unhapy
The first day was fine except for all of the construction. The only available place to park was on the street, providing no construction vehicles were taking the spaces. The hotel advertised itself as a bed and breakfast, but we were given vouchers for breakfast at a restaurant. The second day after breakfast and some shopping, we got back to the room around one p.m. and noticed that the room had not been serviced by the maid. After speaking to the manager, she then informed us that no maid service was available. We were not told this upon our arrival. After this encounter, we went back to the room and discovered a dying roach on one of the nightstands next to the bed. After dealing with the lack of parking spaces, no employees at the hotel in the evening time or night time, no breakfast area at a B & B and a total lack of communication, we decided to leave.
