Hotel is OK but location is good
This was the cheapest option I could find for the bank holiday in Dublin. Price was not low and quality could be better. But not much to complain if you plans are to go sightseeing and only rest/sleep in the hotel.

This was the last day this hotel was in business.
This was the last day this hotel was in business. They were closing down the next day. It was evident that it was old, rundown and poorly maintained.

Good location, can be quite noisy outside. Rooms rather tired looking.

2/10 Poor

No WiFi, no cleaning, no sound proofing.
I had a twin room but was on my own which was lucky since one of the beds was unusable, broken mattress and bed springs. The location is very central, on a busy street so you would assume there would be good sound proofing but there isn't, the first thing I did after my first night was buy ear plugs. They claimed there was free WiFi but here wasn't, when I asked at reception about that I was told on the ground floor the used the WiFi from the bar next door, on any other floor there was nothing. I stayed for 6 nights and the bed sheets were never changed, the carpet hadn't been vacuumed before I arrived and wasn't during my stay, the towels were replaced but no other cleaning was done. While I was staying there were protests outside of the building due to the government stopping payment for homeless people who were being housed in some of its rooms so by the time you read this review the hotel might already be closed.

Very poor and I would not return.
Room was acceptable but far too warm and window only opened about 16 cm and so while very noisy unable to ventilate. Single glazed window so no noise reduction. The most annoying thing was that I paid for "continental breakfast included" and the reception said go to Carlos next door and quote my room number. The breakfast was poor: cornflakes and tiny cup of coffee and 2 slices of poor toast.. I announced my room number on arrival but as I tried to leave the waitress demanded 5 euro. Frankly it wasn't worth 50 cents.

Good budget hotel
My room overlooking O'Connell Street was somewhat noisy even during the night. In may ways it's a great little budget hotel but, as they say, you get what you pay for. Very helpful staff.

Just avoid if you are on business
If your stay is on business avoid this place. Very poor neighbourhood, wifi didn't work, small rooms with no air con but with a very noisy air con unit outside the window. All guaranteed no sleep. Checked out after one night and their cancellation policy is punative. A very expensive rip off

A very bad experience in a Dublin Hotel
I would not recommend this hotel, it's old tired and for £181 a night for a double room not worth the money, I had a room that had cigarette burns on the furniture, a cheap portable TV, an ensuite that you could hardly move in, next to an outside air conditioning system. the whole experience spoilt the weekend trip with a lady. Will not go back again.

Nice hotel very central.
Great hotel, and staff, very friendly, however, minor bits to the rooms eg loose bath rail, radiator needs painting, otherwise can not fault hotel under any circumstances.

I was not allowed to stay at this hotel due to a maintenance problem with my room.A room was booked for me at their sister property "The Bridge House" guest house. I was not told about this problem until I arrived at the hotel. They did provide a taxi to bring me to the new accommodation. But I was late for my meeting because of this change of hotels. I only stay at this hotel because it is near the area where I meet up with my club. So I was not impressed to find I would need to get a taxi late at night to get to my room after my event.

This is a welfare hotel
Nightmare. It seems that this is a welfare hotel - next door was a family of 2 adults and 5 children and I had to complain several times to have them finally pipe down after 11pm. They were up again at 4am. I insisted on moving rooms for the second time the night and that room had a screaming baby close by and bed bugs. The wifi was unreliable and on arrival not available at all, when I enquired with reception at 2;30pm they said they could only call IT the following day. They did in fact call someone out after all as it was back on (always intermittently) when I came back after spending 2 hours in a Starbucks to get wifi signal and emails. The staff have a serious challenge in trying to keep the welfare residents in check and while I appreciated their efforts, it was a nightmare stay and I could never recommend this hotel.

Good if on the go
Great if you are on the go in Dublin or in the country. If you spend a lot of time in your room on vacation then this hotel is not for you. You begin hearing activity in building around 7 am and I had one night where workers collecting trash could be heard in alley below room. For someone like me who spends very little time in the hotel, it was a great, inexpensive place to stay. If you need all the creature comforts (more Americanized hotel) don't stay here. If you need a place to sleep a few hours and shower, great choice. Location was awesone, right by Dublin Spier, GPO,minutes walk from Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Temple Bar, and countless other locations. Right on airport bus routes as well as hop on and off points for city tour buses. Also, check out Carlo's restaurant attached to hotel. Food was very good. Good place for me and I'll stay here again when I go back.

When we arrived we discovered that hey had overbooked and there wasn't a room for us. We were very worried at first having already paid but they reassured us they would honor the booking and would find us an alternative room as close as possible. In the end they did and even arranged complimentary breakfast for us. I can't say much about the rooms there butthere service was fantastic .

Great location in the city
Hotel very conveniently located in shopping/dining district, within walking distance to many attractions. Arriving in Dublin via ferry from Holyhead, Wales, the shuttle bus dropped us off across the river and it was just a short (less than ten-minute) walk to the hotel. The single bed in our triple room (double + twin) was a bit lumpy, but not unbearable. We were given discount coupons for the restaurant downstairs, although we didn't use them. Biggest plus was the location.
