Overall a great experience. Very friendly, kind, helpful staff; Very clean hotel and room; Amazing breakfast! Full Irish breakfast and more!
One problem is the lack of A/C and ventilation in the room. Not having A/C seems common in Ireland, which makes sense since it hardly ever gets very warm. However, the room still got pretty stuffy with 4 people in it, and the window only opened a few inches, plus we could not leave it open all night since we were on the first floor, with a flat roof right there, where birds or anything else that could fit in a small space could easily get in, given that there are no screens. The fan was helpful but it was still too warm and stuffy to sleep with any covers on.
Also the pool was fantastic, but we initially had trouble accessing it with our kids after finding out that no children were allowed in after 7PM—which is right when we arrived. This policy was not clearly explained on the website—it only said the kids area would close by 7. Fortunately, the very kind staff accommodated us for a short swim nonetheless, given the circumstances.
