Great rooms, lovely staff & service. Stunning building . Huge reception area which would be better used as a coffee shop / bar as there are no comfortable public areas to sit & enjoy a coffee after sightseeing or a drink before or after dinner. So as a group of 8 we always had to go elsewhere. The bar has 1 table that seats 4, 2 bar stools, & 2 large single wall seats. So fine for 2 people to grab a nightcap but not somewhere to spend any time. But id definitely consider it for a return trip.

Fabulous Hotel - 10/10 Recommend
Hotel Oktogon was the perfect hotel for my brother and me traveling in December to visit Budapest! Located at a busy intersection with easy access to the rest of the city by foot or by catching a bus, trolley, or metro right steps from the front doors, it was a perfect location. Accommodations were also fantastic - the room was very comfortable and had a unique skylight / window on the top floor, the staff were extremely friendly and had sturdy umbrellas to borrow during a rainy day, and the hotel offered breakfast (for purchase or included in your stay, depending on what you initially book). If you are unsure about where to stay in Budapest, I couldn’t recommend Hotel Oktogon more!

4 & half stars - not quite 5* as requested a couple of things that weren’t resolved (large duvet as opposed to 2 singles on a king bed & bathroom drain smell) Otherwise, staff very friendly and room on 5th floor perfect for our stay in Budapest. Would stay again if back in the city :-) Plenty of places for dinner around the area and easy to get to from the airport and train station.
