Very old fashioned. Feels like the 80s. 60s? 70s? Service in the restaurant was super, super slow

Location was good. Hotel was tired, maybe even shabby. Breakfast was 200yard walk away. Staff at breakfast were helpful.

Goos
Good views of Rhine, easy path to walk along. Downside was we had to walk 400m to another hotel for breakfast, but it was a lovely breakfast. They have a problem with wi-fi connection so I found it difficult to pay with a card although we had noo problems logging onto the wi-fi ourselves

No view of the Rhine
The good bits: the hotel was clean and the restaurant was lovely.. Good food, worth stopping here for dinner. However it is right on the road - you can't see any part of the Rhine or anything from the hotel and the parking is limited - you need to go up the road to the sports centre to park. It was Ok for an overnight stop - but for the price I think you could probably get something a bit nicer with a nicer view of the river.

Lovely hotel with views of the Rhein.
Everything in the hotel was pretty good. Lovely breakfast with cheeses, meats, freshly cooked eggs, cereal etc. Also the restaurant has beautiful views of the river.

Very eccentric. Good for a one night stay. There are no elevators and we had the top floor room (4 flights up). The view was of the Rhine river which was great. It's above a restaurant, which has great food and stays open late. However, it's off street parking which there was only about 6-7 spots. Room was very small and you can't spread out. Towels, sheets and blankets were clean but old. Each room is it's own color and character, ours was all lavender purple. Very, very small shower, hard to move at all. Room gets very warm. The view was great and the staff was very, very friendly. Good for a one night stay. Try the pizza at the restaurant - best we've ever had.

Family Friendly Hotel along the Rhine
We stayed here for four nights, and visited nearby cities including Frankfurt, Koblenz, and Nurburg. We got two adjacent rooms given the family size (5), where the rates were reasonable. The rooms looked new and clean. There was a Teutonic simplicity to everything, for example a single thick bed blanket as opposed to multiple thin sheets, one set of water-tight acrylic shower doors as opposed to shower curtains, and a sturdy set of window blinds as opposed to curtains. The breakfast was satisfying without being too heavy, and everyone loved it. Simple and practical, just like the country itself. The hotel had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. Auf Wiedersehen !!

A little disorganised but .......
When we arrived we were told there were no rooms available for the night of our arrival, even though we had booked. We were sent to a hotel a few hundred metres away, who were clearly not expecting us. However it sorted itself out, we returned to "our" hotel for the following two nights and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Very enjoyable stay
Very clean and large bedroom. Hotel was very clean and tidy throughout. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Evening meal menu, if on half board, a little limited but quality and quantity of food excellent. Good location for visiting places of interest.

Amazing location just overlooking the Rhine and the staff were lovely. The only issue during a heatwave is there was no air conditioning and it was very warm in the bedroom!

Pleasant Stop Along the Rhine
Short walk to town alone the Rhine River to restaurants. The owners have done a lot of work making the hotel quaint, colorful, and ecclectic. Small bathroom. Breakfast was good. Only problem we had was slow internet with interrupted connectivity. Seemed like weak signal. Very limited English spoken.

Fantastic value.
Fantastic stay in a large room with a huge bathroom. Convenient to the river promenade, excellent restaurant at the hotel, and very reasonable prices. We were checked in and shown to our room quickly; the hotel restaurant was very understaffed that night, but the proprietors kept a friendly smile and attitude and made it a pleasure regardless. Wi-Fi was very fast. View from top floor was great as well. Comfortable bed and sitting area. Very highly recommended.

Very friendly - good base for the Mittelrhein
The hotel is very clean with wonderfully friendly staff. Breakfast was tasty and generous and dinner was good quality German fare for a great price. Although the owner spoke no English, he was very helpful and enthusiastic. Kamp-Bornhofen is very small so there are only a few restaurants and we only found one place for lunch so take full advantage of the trains and ferry to bigger towns! Good base for travelling the beautiful Mittelrhein region!

Nice quaint hotel...Great Value and confortable
Great little German hotel. It's run by a nice German family. Only the son speaks English, but he is very good and also helpful in getting us signed onto the Internet. The Father runs the hotel and his wife runs the kitchen. Great breakfast every morning included in the price, and the dinners were wonderful and authentic German meals at reasonable prices. They only take cash for the food, but you can use your credit card for the room. I did have to show him how to work his new Credit Card machine. He didn't realize that you have the option to swipe the card on the side of the machine...which you need to do if you don't have a chip in the card.

Some problems
The polyester towels and sheets were uncomfortable. The wifi was too weak to do any but the most basic tasks. The waitress in the restaurant was grumpy. We waited an hour for our food and it was bad and expensive. The breakfast was great and it was close to the boat tours.

Great breakfast, poor Wifi
We stayed 2 nights, on short notice. We requested a ground floor room, but we got a room on the third floor, up a lot of stairs. But it was an upgraded room. We thought the buffet breskfast was great, a wide selection of things. On the negative side, the Wifi gave us contnual problems. Connection was spotty and I had to ask for help many times. The owners do not speak English. The guy who manages the internet does speak passable English, but he is not there all the time.

Cute place with great customer service.
We had a great time. The owners were very nice and the room was recently remodeled and looked warm and inviting. The breakfast was a typical European fair with good eats. Just be aware that they don't take credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), only the EC or cash. Thankfully there was bank down the street!

Do not rely on a good wifi connection
Pretty good, breakfast was decent, rooms were clean. Also very quiet. On the downside, the manager does not speak a word of English and the internet connection only works when everybody else is asleep. But a good stay nonetheless.

Authentic Rhineland
This is a nicely kept but older hotel with restaurant and bar on the ground floor. Room/bathrm were very clean. Beds comfortable. Breakfast included and very tasty (regular German bkft of good brotchen, meats, cheeses, butter, jellies, Nutella, etc. With yogurt and musliex, coffee, tea, juice, etc.) Eat outside on large patio or in large bkft room. Dinner at restaurant was very good. Older decor-- heavy wood, furniture. No ac but large window opens wide. Backs up to train tracks. Passenger trains are hardly noticable; freight trains are louder, but not long like in the US. Mostly German tourists (early Aug) so authentic experience. Owners speak a Rhine dialect but also some English. Be prepared to pay in Euros! No credit cards. Thank you to the young USAF family who saved us a long walk to the bank to exchange money...
