Not too great, kitchen area grubby, bathroom (shared) wasn’t the best, loo rolls and paper all scattered outside the window. Wasn’t 100% sure bedding was fresh as hair inside and on top of bed covers. Get what you pay for sometimes.

Was not a true representation of pictures. Loud karaoke past 12pm.

Very friendly place to stay
The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was nice, clean and well decorated apart from a broken window opener and no coffee/tea facilities in the room. Also sharing a toilet and shower room with 4 other rooms was not so good. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

Didn’t like use of shared bathroom but the price of stay was excellent because of it. The bathroom was very clean and there were no issues with shared use.

6/10 Good

It was fine for a one night stay providing you like a shared bathroom between about 6 rooms. Nice location is a big selling point overlooking the River Avon

Potential not met 🙁
Disappointed to have to write this review as it could have been so much better and they did try! When we arrived it appeared they didn’t know we were coming and couldnt find my details, after a 20 min wait and showing my hotels.com confirmation the lady showed us into the accommodation and said we’ve upgraded you! You have the apartment, this was appreciated as it had en-suite facilities. We ate in the pub on Friday night and the food was delicious and well priced with good service. Saturday we were out until the evening and upon our return there was karaoke on, it would have been nice to know this was going to be the case because we would have stayed elsewhere as it went on until well past 11 even though the info sheet in the room said the pub closed at 11. The apartment was directly above the main part of the pub and the karaoke was loud! It was thumping and after a long day all we wanted to do was sleep! A heads up on this would have at least given us options as they do message you entry details when you book so they could add this on. The apartment was nice, the bed was comfy, unfortunately there is a fair amount of mould in the grout in the shower that could easily be sorted. The WiFi didn’t work at all for us and it appears the hotel part actually has ppl who live there permanently as one evening my husband was outside and a gentleman asked ‘do you live here too?!’ which could be off putting to some. A real shame, great price but could be so much more.

A truly relaxing and enjoyable stay!
This pleasant out-of-the-way location, plus its staff's attention to customer care in all areas, makes for a terrific stay. My room above the restaurant/pub was perfect for a solo traveler - even with a shared bath. Also, the food served was tasty and at a fair price. Highly recommend the Fish and Anchor for those seeking a truely English countryside experience.
