Amalfi Coast Splendor
This hotel exceeded all of our expectations! We wish we had booked it for more nights. Unfortunately, they had no openings. Can’t say enough about the service and the gorgeous property. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in any hotel.

Best time ever!
We received a warm welcome at this family owned hotel and restaurant. They did everything to make our stay very special in arranging for transportation to Sorrento and a visit to Positano. The breakfast is amazing and the cooking class was fun. Make sure you dine in their restaurant and ask to see the amazing wine cellar.

Attention to details & guest experience above all
This family owned boutique hotel which is part of the Relais et Chateaux group is a MUST! The complex is a quad surrounded by 'typical' Italian Villas, anchored by their Michelin rated restaurant (had 3 stars in the 2000s, now has 2 stars) which had an amazing price/experience value and was nearly full every night. In the large courtyard annexed by the various villas there is a small-ish pool (which has a couple of spa-like water jets on each side) with a relaxing deck. Proprietor Mario and family/team make a point to see each of their guest every day to say hello and make sure their stay is going well (their motto actually is: "guest services as a vocation" and it shows!). Since the property only has a few rooms, it never felt crowded (we spent 4 days there and only saw ~5 other couples) and the rooms themselves are very well insulated with good central air. After 11 days in Italy and having stayed at 4 different hotel - this was by far the best price/quality/value and really the only place where they seemed to really care about their craft! Not to be missed: -> they have their own farm 5km from the hotel where they grow fruits/vegetable for the restaurants (guests are welcomed to visit, sadly we were not able to make it) AND have an amazing basement crypt/wine cellar. Tip 1: They make an amazing lemon liquor in house that is not to be missed Tip 2: Breakfast IS A MUST / an experience on its own - plan to spend at least 45 mins - 1 hour to enjoy in the courtyard.

Outstanding hotel
An outstanding boutique hotel and restaurant. It would have been nice to have a room with a view but the room itself was beautiful. The "backyard" of the hotel was a gorgeous area for breakfast, swimming or sunning and simple relaxing.

Stunning luxury - worth the price
We checked into the hotel, it only has 8 rooms, ours was gorgeous, large with a fabulous bathroom, loads of soft towels, the bed was amazing - a beautiful terrace with views of Mount Vesuvius- our friends were given the cottage which was a divine house, bathroom and lounge downstairs with the bedroom upstairs and a gorgeous garden. Pool area small but sufficient as we had driven from the south and just wanted to chill for the afternoon. Dinner was an experience in itself, it’s all organic and mostly home grown, there were about 25 chefs all working extremely hard to produce a culinary experience which you won’t forget. Obviously, it’s pricey but you get what you pay for and it’s a fabulous experience not to be missed. Service is superb even breakfast was delicious and we would definitely go back one day and they are very proud of what their family has produced.

Words are inadequate
Reviewing this hotel, and its 2 Michelin starred restaurant, seems the inadequate thing to do. Words cannot describe our experience at Don Alfonso 1890. The reception and service is second-to-none. The room was huge and gorgeous. The grounds were lovely. But best of all is the attention and care received from the sibling owners of this wonderful establishment, Livia, Mario and Ernesto. No stone was left unturned to assure our wonderful stay. And, of course, you cannot stay there without eating in the wonderful restaurant. Again, praise seems inadequate, but having eaten in many Michelin starred restaurants in Europe, this is on a whole different level. I booked this hotel thinking it was rather expensive, and left feeling like I hadn't paid enough!

Fabulous Hotel/Restaurant
This wonderful restaurant/rooms is located in the hills above Sorrento. I am now a regular visitor having been back 4 times. Service is exceptional and the pool and rooms magnificent. The village is far from the mass tourist crowd of Sorrento. Great walk up to the nearby Monastery too. Food in the restaurant is truly wonderful and creative. Well worth the money. I love this place.

Amalfi's Hidden Gem!
I cannot describe how nice our stay was at this place! We arrived after a long drive in Amalfi coast around midnight and the hotel staff were as friendly as it was noon :) Livia came to greet us at that time of the night and offered us fresh limonata which was awesome. The room was clean and very welcoming and quiet. We had a very nice breakfast as well. Next time we're going to Amalfi we will only stay here.

Amazing hotel in small town Italy
What a lovely hotel in a lovely small town. The hotel and restaurant are clearly the owner's passion and you can tell. From the warm and friendly greetings to the time we left we amazed by the staff and service. The food was amazing, the pool and lounge areas were perfect on the hot days and rooms were large and well appointed. This was by far one of the best hotels we've stayed in in Europe.

Faultless
We cannot fault this hotel, the staff or the food. The owners make you feel as if you are a personal friend visiting their house and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are courteous and friendly but make you feel at ease and the food is out of this world. It's expensive but if you get a chance then make sure you eat here at least once in your life! We can't thank Ernesto, Mario or Livia enough and we will return soon.

Creme de la creme!
WOW - this place is amazing. Beautiful grounds, rooms, bathrooms and a 5 star restaurant. Add a culinary school on site and a staff that is bar none the best staff to ever work in the industry. Made my trip - most memorable place I have ever stayed at in the world! To meet the owners who are on site all the time making sure you are happy, pleased and well fed. Upon arrival we were greeted with drinks, luggage removed from car and car parked for us. We were then shown around and taken to our room - which was gorgeous - quite large and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was perfect size for 2 of us. They coordinated our activities for us which included a boat tour of Capri which was amazing. We ate in the restaurant where the owners son is the chef - what a feast for the senses. Best meal and experience ever! Have to eat there if you have the chance! They gave us a tour of the 2600 year old wine cellar which houses quite the collection. Would stay here over and over again!

I if you can afford it, run don't walk to visit.
This stay was one of those lifelong memories. We toured the wine cellar & the kitchen. The hotel & restaurant are run by the family-every member has a distinct roll, and they do it with perfection. This was an anniversary gift & my husband loved it. The price fixe dinner was worth it. Special, I'm salivating thinking about it. The decor is divine. Colorful & happy rooms! Custom tiles that are breathtaking. Murano glasses with a bottle of water by the bed. Outside breakfast patio with endless choices. I plan to talk about this, long after I can no longer travel!
