Avoid rooms on the terrace - its a restaurant!
We paid extra for a room on the terrace. Its was grubby, bedding smelt and badly needed airing and there were horrible stains on the side of bed and wall - some looked like dried blood - yuk! Our door opened immediately out onto a table - part of the restaurant. The restaurant is busy at lunch time and evening -and so noisy until midnight and beyond. Not want we thought we were buying!

Friendly, central and very good food.
The hotel is just off the Market Square within easy walking distance of the Vrijthof, all sights, restaurants and cafes. The fine dining restaurant was excellent and very popular. Despite the central location, the rooms had very good sound proofing so there was no noise at all. The owner/managers were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Great location and room
The location is ideal as it is only a few minutes walk to Maastricht centre. Getting close to hotel entrance in a car is a challenge as there are pop up bollards at one end of the road which allow busses and taxis through but not personal cars. There are ways around this but my sat nav couldn’t find it so we just parked in the Q Park car park which is about 3 min walk. Room was nice size and bed was very comfortable. There is a small lift that can fit 2 people in. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I will stay here again and would recommend it.

Well worth staying if you are visiting Maastricht
Lovely hotel very close to the centre of Maastricht. Nicely decorated hotel and room and a very decent size! Really a lovely place to stay. Faults? Well there is no parking at the hotel, which is not what is shown; you have to park in the public parking and walk. Also the door of the bathroom has a huge mirror on the inside, nicely showing you sitting on the toilet.... But the positives? Comfy, roomy, lovely staff, great location and the breakfast is OUTSTANDING! Initially you walk into the dining room and think 'is that it?' but then the food starts being served fresh and hot and just keeps on coming....

Fantastic food, fabulous people
Some of the facilities may not have been up to standard but the enthusiasm, friendship, quality and presentation of the food were fantastic. I would not stay anywhere else when visiting Maastericht again.

Bath was great. room had no Internet connection at all, despite the claim that they had free wifi.

Great disappointment.
Wi-fi did not work on the third floor unless the door was open. When it worked it was very, very slow. Fixtures on the bathroom sink were loose and not msintained.

Breakfast was awesome and the people very friendly. Wifi, however, was slow and in and out. Otherwise, great.

Very small room. It was very difficult to move around. The ceiling in a part of the room it was too low so I had to bend the head. They charged breakfast 20€ per day. The bottles with the shampoo and the shower gel were open and I didn't know if there was from the previous one. Old TV set. Very small and uncomfortable bed.

Past its prime
The building would need some investment, since it is fairly run down. Paint, carpet, and plumbing were in their heyday many years ago. The sink in the bathroom was clogged and, although it was reported, was not fixed the same or the next day. The additional air conditioning will be handy in the summer, but has been poorly installed. The beds are fairly small, not US King or even European King size as advertised. The owner was not very helpful.

Very comfortable hotel with great staff.
We were a family of three, a seventeen year old with down's syndrome. Very clean and comfortable room. Huge bathroom.Lovely lounge in the hotel to sit and have a coffee. Extremely convenient for central Maastricht. A character building with a lift ! The staff will do anything to help and create a relaxed atmosphere. Excellent English spoken. Run by husband and wife who are very genuine and have put their heart and soul into this business. Such a great team and would definitely return. Breakfast was great, we didn't stay for dinner but I hear that the chef is excellent !

The hotel is centrally located which is great, but it looks a little tired now and could do with updating.

Beautiful historic hotel close to the city center.
Hotel was clean and beautiful with a much larger room and bathroom than is common in much of Europe. View of the street was great as well. Stairs were very steep (it is a historic building), but a reliable elevator was an option as well. Staff was very friendly and happy to speak in Dutch or English. If I'm in Maastricht again, I know where I'll be staying!

Charming with excellent dining
We really enjoyed staying there- the room was very comfortable the in -room coffee was great. My only thought as we walked in the room was the warn out carpet- after staying in the city a few days I realized it was just warn out and not as dirty as my first impression. It's is a very charming hotel, with a wonderful staff and the food is excellent.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel and restaurant within a 2 minute walk of the town square. The room was spaceous and neat and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was complete and fresh and the quantity was enough for a morning feast. We loved it. Take the f(r)ee tour for a two hour walking tour of the highlights of the city.

False advertisement
They lied about having air conditioning in the room. They gave us a room without airconditioning in the attic. Horrible, dirty, dusty, old and ugly hotel

Beautiful historic building with a very spacious room and excellent air conditioning which was great as we were there during the heatwave. Close to everything but a little bit away from noise. Bathroom also great. We had problems getting Wifi in our room.

Will stay again
Our stay was fab! I honestly think the bed we slept upon was the most comfortable bed I have ever had at any hotel, 5 star or otherwise. I lost my phone in a taxi and reception did everything they could to help me find it...I had it back the next day! Breakfast was good! The location was the best. Close to everything, the river, on the square, 12 min walk to the station. The hotel could use a bit of renovating but for the price, it was great value! Everything worked perfectly, A/C, showers, elevator, very clean, comfortable, great pillows and mattress. This hotel is 300 years old and was the home of the wealthiest family in Maastricht. It's the only property in Maastricht that has a front garden.
