The positives: For price (about $50 USD), my room was beautiful, I got a free upgrade to an ocean view room, the air conditioning worked well, the bathroom was clean, and the balcony was very usable. The restaurant staff were friendly, outgoing, and accommodating. The hotel was quiet, has a relaxing atmosphere, and a beautiful rocky beach. The location is between Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, which means it is away from the crowds of both cities.
The negatives: The front desk staff was incredibly bureaucratic and their English language skills were insufficient to communicate with English speaking guests. A few examples: in order to verify my reservation, they wanted a print out from expedia.com (I booked through hotels.com and had not print out). I had to repeatedly assert that my passport is my identification and no further identification is necessary. Once checked in, I really wanted to go to my room after a long day on a motorcycle, but they insisted that I sit in the lobby and have my "welcome drink”. I would have enjoyed my welcome drink more had I received it after cleaning up. An example of a language issue: The front desk informed me that they could book train tickets, but they tried to book bus tickets for me. I had to take a taxi to the train station in order to buy my ticket. The beach bar and the spa are under renovations, so they were unusable at the time of my visit - - - I would like to have known this when booking my room not after checking in.
