The first thing that hits you as soon as you arrive is the view - it is stunning. We stayed in a standard room and it was perfectly adequate if a little basic. However, the rooms do not let in much natural light.
The pool is lovely (unheated but refreshing!) it seems fairly well maintained which unfortunately can not be said for all the facilities. The ping pong table is broken at the bats/ball completely knackered so there isn’t much in the way of activities but I suppose that’s okay if you just want to chill out - it’s very good for that!
We hired bikes at one point via reception and they were of very high quality (book in advance - they are delivered from Orvieto).
Food in the restaurant was very good - especially the pasta! Prices fairly reasonable as well. Breakfast was okay, limited in the way of hot food but there was cakes, cereals, and fruit etc.
The staff were mixed, some could not be more helpful but one receptionist, while friendly, seemed adverse to actually helping with the request, including booking a taxi, saying she “preferred” just to give us the taxi number. Not what I would expect from a hotel like this. We know the hotel was not even in remotely full/busy so I don’t understand why she couldn’t be more helpful.
All in all, great place to relax with gorgeous views and a beautiful pool. Would recommend for a short stay. Also, it’s quite remote and taxis cost c. EUR30-40 a pop to the station/city so bear that in mind if you don’t take a c!
