Good clean hotel
Very clean family run small hotel if only a few rooms. Looks like it was recently renovated. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Hotel is a short 5 minute walk to the center of town, Plaza de Armas.

This property is situated near the base of a mountain, every morning when I opened my door I had a breathtaking view. The staff was always available and always more than happy to help by giving suggestions for the area or recommendations. They even helped me when I had another issue with my travel plans. Breakfast was included and they even accommodated all my food restrictions. The walls were a little thin, but I always bring earplugs so it didn’t really bother me. The only thing that could’ve been better was the water situation. I had trouble getting hot water in my shower, it was only lukewarm and I had to notify the staff before I showered so they could turn on the gas.

Attractive hotel, good breakfast. Unfortunately the rooms in the front were noisy. The king size bed was only a full size bed. The water in the shower never was hot.

Sergio, the hotelier was terrific, very helpful and knowledgeable, friendly and spoke English well. Owned a terrific restaurant in another part of Ollantaytambo. Big, modern bathroom, comfortable, warm beds.

Great and Convenient Stay
A family-run hostal with great price and helpful hospitality. Impressed with the bath hot water and big tub that I dont want to waste the hot water since it is the common problems when we encountered in other hotels with only warm water. Just be mindful that its tough to drag your luggage thru stone pebble streets from Plaza de Arms. The owner came out calling taxi to carry 4 people's luggage which makes it easier. enjoy it much there.
Hotel is further off the square than the map marker indicates. Small hotel run by a family who is really nice and eager to help. Beds are a bit hard and noise easily comes into the rooms from outside, but the breakfast, hospitality, and charm are great.

Clean and you get what you pay for. Friendly staff however the cooking smell from the kitchen permeates the room and and your clothing. Toilet did have some initial problems working due to a stuck float valve. Basic accommodations. It's a roof and a clean room. I would chose to stay elsewhere on a further visit.

Absolutely no frills in a great location
This is not a hotel but a hostal above a restaurant in a very small pueblo and the review takes this into consideration. The rooms are very basic by all standards but clean and with no funny smells. Jesus is very responsive and gave us a great service - he runs the restaurant so he is always busy. WiFi can be spotty and we noticed that water was turned off between around 10PM and 6-7AM - this may be usual for this pueblo. It is located right on the main square where everything happens, so expect some noise coming from the street - for us this added to the experience.
The shower was very hot which is a plus. Our bathroom did not have a ceiling, which was strange but obviously still enclosed by the room ceiling.

Hot showers and delicious breakfast
Very clean and comfy room, right in the centre of ollantaytambo next to a really nice bakery. Only 5 minutes walk from the ruins and also next to a good mountain bike tour company.

5 for value and location
Hostal Kiswar is in the center of Ollantaytambo. Go to Ollantaytambo to see spectacular Inca and pre-Inca ruins and a small unspoiled Peruvian tourist town. Hostel Kiswar fits that description perfectly - small unspoiled small-town Peruvian hostel. Very inexpensive, unassuming, and authentic. I would definitely stay there again

Very friendly hotel staff - family run. No English speaking staff but I don't speak Spanish and did just fine with them. Just a nice bunch of people. The hotel was in an ideal spot.... right in the square! The restaurant attached was great as well.

Too Noise
Hostal was on the second floor of a restaurant facing the plaza. Cooking oil smell get to the room all the time. Late in the evening like 11:00 PM there was a psycho gaving speech and nobody bothered to stop him for like an hour. You can also smell the dust caused by all the cars and tour buses go through the squre.

Comfortable, clean and conveniently located
Simple but clean and comfortable room with a nice restaurant downstairs that serves good, homemade meals. Hostel is also conveniently located next to the town's main plaza. I will return to the hostel on my next visit.

Small and friendly
The room was adequate and warm water intermittent.
Not especially cheap.
Although the village has plenty of eateries I chose to eat at the hostal which again was adequate.
The owner said he would get up to make me a six o'clock breakfast which was nice of him.

Quick stay but great!
Stayed for just one night en route to Machu Picchu. Even though breakfast was supposed to start at 6:30 the owner insisted on making mine earlier because I had to leave at 6:10. So very much appreciated!

Great breakfast in Ollantaytambo
Owner weirdly wasn't there when we came to check in (around noon, so not exactly an off time) and so we couldn't get in for a while, but when we were able the hostel itself was nice enough. Good rooms, great location (in the main square of Ollantaytambo) and the best breakfast we got from any hostel in Peru--he actually serves coffee with milk and eggs, not just the usual jam and butter spread.

We stayed for 2 nights on either side of our trip to Aguas Calientes/ Machu Picchu. We liked the hotel in general. It has good staff, a decent breakfast, a central location on the Plaza de Armas (although Ollanta is pretty small), etc. Our biggest complaint was the noise from the road at night. Our second night we switched to a room in the back, which was much more pleasant.

Convenient location
The hotel is located in the Plaza de Armas (main square) close to many restaurants and within easy walking distance of the Ollantaytambo ruins. I was able to walk to the hotel from the railway station, although a taxi would be better if you have a lot of luggage. The service was ok (not super friendly but adequate) and the room didn't have a great view and was a bit dark... but you get your own room, a reasonably comfortable bed, and your own bathroom for a very low price.

It is what it is.
There are very few hotel options in this town. Given that it was a 2 star "hotel" it pretty much was that. Plain, but clean, nice owners. Right on town square, barking packs of dogs kept waking us up. No electricity in the morning. If you want a place to simply crash before or after Machu Picchu and also want to do the hikes in this town, you are OK to stay here. Internet existed (when electricity was on) but was very slow.
