The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast options were basic but sufficient and very family friendly. I subtracted one star because the hotel tried to charge me an additional $5/night for parking even though the listing claims they offer free parking. Apparently they stopped offering free parking as of Jan 1 but haven't yet updated their listings to reflect this. They didn't tell me about this ahead of time - I only noticed it when reviewing my bill at checkout.

We had several issues during our two night stay. When we arrived we found a pair of underwear stuck behind the toilet. Not sure how that was missed when the room was cleaned. The shower was only lukewarm and actually turned cold on me both times I used it. The breakfast was not restocked often and the second morning most of the food was gone even though it was only an hour into the breakfast time. Upon checkout I discovered that we were charged $5 a day for parking which we were unaware of.

Stayed here as we were visiting Monterey and Big Sur. A bit far from Monterey but for the price, amenities, cleanliness and breakfast I'd stay here and drive the extra miles. On our return trip to the same area, we stayed closer to town and it was a Motel, not Hotel and paid way more for lesser quality and no breakfast.
