Great place and awesome staff.
Great place to stay and amazing service. We’re very kind and understanding. The rooftop bath is amazing. Have stayed here before. New people are managing it and doing a good job.

The location was great - right next to the picturesque areas called Sannen-zaka and Ninen-saka. The ryokan is quiet and comfortable and it's a nice treat to soak in the bath on the rooftop after a long day of exploring. The staff are wonderful and very helpful in suggesting 'key' sites and restaurants. Also, don't miss the breakfasts!

Great hotel
It was a fantastic experience in Kyoto and in this hotel. We experienced Japanese style roof-bath, seeing the night scene of Kyoto. Two young staff are friendly and professional. Rooms are a little small but it was enough to settle down. I will definitely recommend all my friend to stay there if they visit Kyoto.

Upslope Stay
Very near to Kiyomizudera temple.
Location is a bit difficult to locate. not too convenient to travel to because most likely you will often travel to Gion for dining.

Great location!
This was our first stay in a traditional "Japanese Style" hotel. The staff was very helpful. The rooms are small and do not have much in them but after a couple of days you get used to it. The bath and view make it worth spending a night or two.
Great staff, so kind and detail oriented. Delicious asian breakfast. Best location in Kyoto, walking distance from some of the main attractions. Laundry available. Hot tube is a plus.

Hotel with traditional room but not a ryokan at al
The hotel is clean and the traditional room is very nice. The bath on the toproof is excellent.
But the hotel is not a ryokan. There is no rule, no real staff, a young guy was in charge of the whole hotel. He was very nice but did the minimum. The reception was basic, no instructions were given. The hair dryer has been used in our small floor (shared bathroom for 3 rooms) at midnight.

離清水寺近的民宿
沒有公用電腦較不便,推著行李到飯店有點辛苦,因都是上坡路。不過離清水寺很近,步行10分鐘內可達。

It was really difficult to find the way to the Inn, and that area is absolutely quiet (nothing to do) after 6pm. If you enjoy quiet night, it is your choice. Otherwise, the stay is comfortable and the Japanese breakfast is super.
