Overnight stay
Hotel itself is good and convenient for central Birmingham with the tram stop just around the corner. Room comfortable. Couple of niggles that could make it better. We only had 1 towel and no hairdryer and despite asking twice still didn't receive these. Was told when we left that hairdriers were broken and they didn't know where housekeeping kept the towels. We were offered a complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience but had just left the restaurant and had already paid for breakfast. No refund was offered. Food was good. Had a meal there on Saturday which was very good. Breakfast was also good quality but little things could have been better. Had to ask for butter to go with toast. There was nowhere to put rubbish and teabags at drinks station. No plates for pastries, fruit had run out and not replced, milk had run out and not replaced had to keep asking for things to be refilled, staff need to be more attentive to breakfast buffet area. Overall stay was pleasant enough, and I would stay again despite the small niggles.

Stylish and friendly and great location
Staff very friendly and helpful. Bar stylish and good choice of drinks. Room quite basic but comfortable, except that an electric portable heater provided the heating and this gave me an electric shock when I turned it off, fusing the TV etc. This was quite alarming though the member of staff I told at checkout was very sympathetic and checked I was OK.

Stayed here before and was beautiful spotlessly clean. Was really disappointed this time the blind in the hotel room was broken. The shower was dirty and mold by the mirror in batbroom

small beds, problems with the service
The rooms we ordered had small beds, and it was a problem for some of us. The elivator doesn't work for over a year The cleaning staff took the extra blanke we asked and we had to ask again (one time) Took the wet towels and did not replace them with new ones (2 times)

Okay
Lift not working, no TV remote, heating not working and shower head badly leaking means 3 stars. Good location, good bar, bed comfy. Basic room for the money.

Well worth staying here
Lovely hotel with excellent spacious room with free mini-bar including champagne... Pity the TV wasn't working correctly and the lift was out of order. Interesting good-value breakfast menu. Brilliant location to explore Birmingham

Disappointed
Ok room was smaller than expected and very basic . Not any different from a Premier Inn etc.. Limited amount of tea bags and no coffee in the room. No sound insulation you hear everything happening in surrounding rooms and bathrooms!. Also in corridor. Breakfast is expensive for what you get . If you go for the full English and have a croissant you get charged for two breakfasts !!! Not really a boutique hotel .

Nice but not great
We arrived before the 3pm check in time and informed that no one can check in early. Something that always annoys me tbh. When we got to the room I think we had been allocated a special assistance room. It was very cold and the airel conditioning wasn't great. When we got back to the hotel after a night out, the restaurant downstairs was very busy and when we got to our room we realised that the single glazed windows not only offered no heat retention they also provided no sound insulation. We heard every conversation taking place up in to the early hours. The place is clean and tidy but needs more work on making it comfortable.

Great little gem
Really large room. Has an upgrade I think but wasn’t told. Room was definitely bigger than and looked different to the image for the one I booked. Bit out of the way, but in a nice area and still easy to get in / out of town. Would recommend and would stay again. Brilliant breakfast the next day, plus you get a discount if you stay room only and pay the next day. Massive plate and buffet continental too!
