First off, check in was a disaster. Searching for the check in, while lugging suitcases for over an hour in the heat was not ideal- The area was pedestrian only, and parking outside of the pedestrian area was impossible to find. Because we couldn't find the check in area, we went straight to the hotel. It was locked, although we could see a reception area through the window. I finally reached someone by phone who said they would be right over to check us in. He arrived about 20 minutes later. He did say we could call to have help with the rest of our bags that were in the car, but we had parked so far away, that we didn't know when we would be going back that way to retrieve them.
Our room was ok, it was clean, and the bed was comfortable- the photos showed a wonderful harbor view, but in reality, the balcony overlooked the backs of some restaurants. The harbor was actually in front of the restaurants. We were also on the third floor, and the hotel hallways were not air-conditioned, so it was a hot climb up. My boyfriend and I are in somewhat good shape for mid 50's, but this would not have worked for someone who is not fit. There was supposed to be some items left in the room as complimentary, (I believe water and a few other things), but nothing was left in the room.
Overall, a big disappointment. I've been to Chania before, and we were assisted with parking, luggage, and had people on site. If I return, I will be staying elsewhere.
