Very festive hotel with excellent staff
Stayed for 2 nights 13.12.24, very festive hotel, had Santa greeting us for breakfast both mornings, with singing and going around asking if we have all be good for Christmas. A brilliant touch and one of the most festive/lively atmosphere I have been to at breakfast. Sent us up for a day at the markets and Christmas shopping which was a short distance away. Santa was excellent, bar staff at night was friendly and very attentive, receptionist was friendly and informative and nothing was too much trouble . Breakfast staff worked so hard to keep all food and drinks replenished. A credit to all staff that work there 😀

Comfortable
Challenging book in was given a twin room when we booked a double room spoke to the manager and was eventually given an assessable double room which was lovely breakfast hectic but you expect that in a big hotel shouldn’t take a booking from a third party if you can’t fulfil the room requirement!

Great city centre hotel
Well placed for everything. Very quiet at night even though it was a Friday near Christmas and an extremely comfortable bed. The room was also spotlessly clean. Overall, very happy with our experience.

Nice hotel, just 2 out of the 3 lifts were out of action and we were on 17th floor.

Likely to come back for business trips
Returning customer. Stayed several times. Good for business trips. Reasonsbly priced. Breakfast could have slighlty more on offer - maybe better fruit and bread selctions. Possibly pastries too. Only suggesting!! Likely to be back.

6/10 Good

Stayed for 3 nights for a long weekend. Rooms and breakfast were OK. Good choice of hot breakfast items but it was chaotic at times. Didn't seem to be enough staff to clear tables of dirty crockery. My room had 2 single beds, which i didn't ask for and which was a bit inconvenient. Decent shower in the bathroom with shower gel, shampoo and handwash provided. Also found an iron, ironing board and hairdryer. The main issue was with the lifts. You have to use them for everything unless you are a suoerhero and can manage the stairs. I was in the 15th floor so i needed the lift. When i arrived on Friday one of the 3 lifts was out of order and apparently had been for quite some time. On Saturday a second lift failed leaving just one to service a 17 floor hotel, and there was no urgency to get the other two fixed. The remaining lift being used by housekeeping staff and guests made waiting for it to arrive a real chore. Maybe instead of paying for Father Christmas to be the entertainment at breakfast, who needs to hear 'ho ho ho' and a clanging bell first thing in the morning, the hotel should have been more customer focussed and got the lift situation sorted out. For anyone with mobility issues this was a major problem. For a big international hotel company ICH have dropped the ball here and should and could have done better for their paying guests.

I was on the Eleventh floor and only one lift was working resulting in me having to walk down to floor one for breakfast then back up to eleventh floor then down again to check out which was not a good experience So not impressed

Do they get an extra star for salmonella?
Initially, the receptionist could not find our booking. Pretty much told us it was our problem. Management came out to sort the issue. Then, only 2x lifts were working so my partner and I due to the queues had to climb 10 floors to our room. Our room has 2x single beds. My partner and I booked a standard room with a double bed. Apparently there are no more double bed rooms so I am stuck in a single bed whilst my partner chills in his. We also can’t move the beds together due to a bedside shelf in the way. My bed has stains on the bed and small hairs which I dare not think what they are. My partner also has long hairs on his pillows We have a door that wasn’t even locked on arrival to access another room and we can hear everyone in the hallway. The breakfast was near inedible. The “hot food” was cold with white, solidified fat on the bacon and the undercooked sausages. The yoghurt was warm and the “coffee” made BP coffee taste like a cappuccino in Italy. Also, maybe @HolidayInn invest your money in food that won’t make your guests sick instead of the Santa at the front just randomly singing a line of a song or talking to the receptionists. The staff are rude and unhelpful. I have been around the world and this definitely hits top 3 worst hotels. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews - this place is awful.
