Basically I made a mistake staying here. I had a good experience at a hostel in Belgrade but this was just too low-end for me, and the kicker was there is no air conditioning or fan and I was there during the summer heatwave of 2022 at 41 degrees. I got 3 hours of sweaty sleep and checked out the next morning, walking away from 2 non-refundable days.
You have to pay e5 for a towel and e3 for a lock, and cash only. Both of these should come with the room. My check-in took over 30 minutes as they were doing a "shift change" and the clerk seemed very inexperienced and had to call someone.
When you walk through the door on the street, the building looks like it hasn't been cleaned or maintained since the late 1700s. The elevator scared me. Once you get into the room though, the quality is OK.
If you can get past all that, the location is excellent, in the heart of the city right on the public transportation lines and within blocks of the ruin bars and riverfront.
