A heritage experience but lacks maintenance.
We went there for a heritage experience, but though the property is good from the outside, the experience inside the hotel is not so great. The bathrooms in the heritage rooms are not so clean and rooms lack maintenance. We got a huge room though and it looked great when you enter but it still needs maintenance. Also this place is frequently used for film shooting, and you get disturbed even past midnight and sleeping there gets difficult, as the hotel is prepared late evenings till midnight at times for the shoot. So there is lots of noise during that timeframe.

Our stay at Lalit Mahal Palace Hotel
Outside look is marvelous! Breakfast was good. However maintenance inside the room is poor. No proper hot water supply. Wooden doors and furnitureare old and worn out. Facilities are not upto 4 star standard.

2/10 Poor

Architecture was unique with some nice paintings, and lighting. Lot of grounds to walk around. Service was terrible. Couldn't get anyone to answer the phone for Room Service. Had to go to the restaurant and then order room service. At dinner time they don't allow people to order a la carte menu and eat at the restaurant. You have to choose only the dinner buffet as the dine in option at the restaurant. Food tasted terrible for the dinner. Too much salt and some weird smell in their aloo chat. The breakfast that was supposed to start at 7 AM was not ready till 8 AM. We had plans to eat breakfast and leave around 7:30 AM but had to wait till 8 AM even to get few slices of toast for our breakfast. Coffee was ready only at 8:30 AM. You would expect Coffee to be the first thing to be made available at the breakfast.

Superb location. Courteous staff. Clean rooms & excellent cuisine. But, cracked WC. Locked locker that could not be opened. Erratic hot water flow. Could do with better maintenance

Nice hotel, but needs to be maintained better
The place is pretty big and looks impressive for a 3-star hotel. It's the bad maintenance and amenities that lets it down. The check-in process was slow. They'd called me a couple of hours ago to confirm my booking, so I was expecting them to be ready with my booking details. But the guy at the reception did not have my name in his guests list for the day at all, and spent a fair bit of time trying to figure out if I have a booking. And even after he found it, the check-in process went pretty slow. The room was okay. It was spacious, and clean, but the amenities were pretty outdated (like a decade old CRT TV), and had two joined single beds instead of a single King/Queen bed. There were other minor issues, but nothing significant. After check-in, we went to their restaurant. As it turned out, they only serve a vegetarian buffet for lunch (no a-la-carte). The buffet did not look particularly good, and was waay overpriced (for instance, it's more than what you'd pay for dinner at a Barbeque Nation). So we tried ordering room service, and were told that the kitchen is closed, and we can only order light snacks. This was at around 3:30ish mind you. We ended up ordering some snacks, none of which were particularly impressive (and their fries smelled like bad oil). But otherwise, I actually quite liked the place. If only they had a better restaurant, and paid even a tiny bit of attention to maintenance, this would be a delightful place to stay in.
