What a wonderful place to stay! An old hunting lodge in a small village in the French countryside within easy driving distance to Metz. You drive up a small incline and arrive at the front of the property which is part of a working farm. The front entrance looks great! The owners son let us in (there is a number to call on the door if you get there and no one is in the building) and led us to our room. A grand entrance with a stone staircase and tall ceilings down corridors with massive doors and original handles felt quite epic. The room was huge and very comfortable. Lovely beds, couches, chairs, and a coffee table provide lots of places to sit. The bathroom was newly renovated and lovely. I walked up and down the hallway more than a few times just because it felt so cool! The owner came by and introduced himself and setup the jacuzzi for us. It feels pretty sweet to sit in a jacuzzi in the shadow of a former hunting manor in the French countryside. Breakfast was made by the owner and was really good! French toast, fresh eggs, and home made jam to highlight a few things! The owner was also very nice. He answered some questions about the property and made sure to come out and wish us farewell and safe journeys as we left.
