The view from the hotel is what it's all about, to have the river on your doorstep is incredible. The room itself was large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely too - fresh fruit salad and nuts, a nice change from bread and butter I was given elsewhere in Peru. The location is about a 15 minute walk from Plaza de Armas and not far from the boulevard. Nearby there is a street market and two covered markets, this means the streets are a bit grubby from the waste but this is the way of life there so it is an authentic experience. There is also street food to try too. Buses to many locations including Bellavista and the airport stop right outside and costs 1sol 50c. The hostess was very sweet, she doesn't speak English but uses a translate app if you can't speak Spanish. The only negative comment is on the electric shower which would trip the fuse if running for too long, so you need to not have the water running constantly which is good practice anyway (you can flip the fuse switch back on yourself from the shower and carry on). The front door is locked and you yet a key so it is safer.
