Booked and paid for in advance, and confirmed. No room available on arrival and the hotel had already arranged an equivalent hotel/room. Except they hadn't. I had booked a room with a sea view and breakfast, in a hotel with a bar and restaurant. They put me in an apartment a few km away, with no service, no amenities, no view, no breakfast, no toiletries. Arriving at 10pm there was no chance to buy things such as shampoo. Disgraceful. hotels.com were very sympathetic and provide a voucher, but as for this hotel, a terrible experience. There were plenty of similar hotels nearby they could have arranged, why an apartment and why claim "yes its a hotel with a sea view". Outright lies.
