Good service, clean but uncomfortable

The shuttle driver, picking us up from the train was very good as well as the one that took us back to the train. Front desk staff was nice, although seemed frazzled. The comfort of our room was poor. It was clean, but there were only two metal chairs in the corner of our room with no table and no other chairs so rather uncomfortable. Very plain. Plus we were put on the lower floor facing the street where a car show was going on with lots of loud cars. Did not get much sleep.

Friendly staff. Upon entering the room, could’ve been cleaned more. Found a bag of trash stuffed behind a chair and located a bug in the bathroom. Having to put your room on the list for cleaning the night before wasn’t ideal. Breakfast was not kept up with food with the number of people in the dining area.

I had a one night stay at the Wingate by Wyndam. The front desk personnel processed my evening check-in efficiently and suggested a few options for nearby dining.My room was spacious and clean.I did have difficulty with the TV, no guide was provided, and and I never was able to access any programming other than one channel.There was no in-room coffee maker, but the hotel did offer complimentary breakfast which was popular with the guests. The Salmon Creek runs behind the hotel offering a nice walking path and access for salmon fishing/viewing.The hotel is located steps away from the Alaska Railways train depot, convenient for travelers arriving/departing from there.

This extremely dated and dirty hotel couldn't even offer a bottle of water for a $400 overnight room. We checked in after 11 and out by 4am, not even a bottle of water. Ridiculous.

Horrible experience at Hotel and with Hotels.com

This hotel was unclean and not as advertised. Hotels.com has yet to make this right as we had to leave. Aside from everything looking unclean in lobby, elevators, hallways etc, there was a huge stain on the carpet in our room. Blood or ??? YUCK. Hotels.com has not yet backed our complaint and even though we left has still charged us! do not book through them.

Great location for train station

Our stay was comfortable. We only stayed for one night after our cruise between disembarking, the train ride to Anchorage and our flight home. The staff was very accompanying and the hotel supplied shuttles for us. The only issues we had was this was a very old hotel and although it was just updated some, the quality did not match the $400 room fees. That was probably my biggest issue. My daughter stayed in a much newer hotel for just a bit more. We had a PVC pipe to lock the window, overspray on the TV from the paint reno and the bathroom door did not close.
