The rooms were quirky and an excellent reflection of the history of the setting - owners were friendly and well informed about places to visit and eat. Breakfast was delicious. Shared sitting room with log burner and comfortable sofas ensured that guests were able to mingle if they wished too.

What a find!

This place is amazing. So beautifully restored, and I thought a bargain for the price. I suspect this is due to the fact you have to drive to get to any local shops etc. Breakfast was a bit of a conveyor belt with no cooked veggie options but the staff were friendly and kind

Easter weekend

The lodge was good, breakfast was nice, and the staff were friendly. The only downside was the entrance, straight off the A1. No slip road made it difficult to slow down enough to get in without missing the entrance which I did the first night and had to go up to the next road to turn around and try again, plus it’s terrible try to cross over the A1.

Great, quirky place

Love this guest house, it has lots of character and original features from its previous farming days. The hosts are absolutely lovely, so welcoming and friendly and cannot do enough for you. My favorite part is being able to sit in the communal living room in front of a roaring fire with a nice hot cocoa and slice of cake.
