San Salvador, is now a very safe city to visit, thanks in part for the great leadership of the country's president. I highly recommend it. With so many places to explore, it's friendly people and delicious food, it's my favorite stop on my way south.

Friendly, helpful people. Lovely warm, sunny climate. Feeling safe even walking after dark. Helpful to know basoc Spanish. International Library in Centro Historico Exemplerary! Unrushed, quiet. Clean, modern, always open.

As in all large towns, the traffic was atrocious. We used Uber to get around which worked well. The new library, BINAES, is amazing and worth a trip.

El Salvador has changed a lot in the past few years. I'm not going to say anything about the controversial politics behind these changes. The effect for American tourists is that it is much safer to visit. I felt completely comfortable walking alone.

It is a beautiful city and I felt safe. I'm from Los Angeles and felt safer walking around the city than walking in my own town. There's lots of police and army men throughout the streets.

It was an interesting city, much like other big cities in Latin America. I felt particularly safe with armed soldiers and police all over the central historical area.
