I have a very long list of complaints about this dreadful excuse for a hotel, but the first has to be that it is not safe for anyone to stay in. In breach of their legal duties they do not provide fire evacuation plans, do not have emergency exit signage and routinely prop open fire doors. One afternoon in the space of 20 mins I closed a fire door three times (having just complained about it being propped open) and every time it was then propped open again. Ironically they prop open one of the doors with a fire extinguisher - see photos!
Having spoken to a family member who is a fire chief he advised me to notify the local fire inspector immediately. The fire inspector then called them and the receptionist admitted she had propped a fire door open. She was instructed to close it and then notify all guests verbally of evacuation plans. We never had that notification so located our nearest fire exist ourselves. They are now being audited by the fire inspector this week
In light of the above I guess it’s not surprising that the hotel also completely misrepresents itself on its advertising. It describes itself as having modern and luxurious rooms, whereas it is actually rundown and filthy. Rooms have no resemblance to photos in adverts. Stink of dog, not decorated, smaller than advertised. Receptionist response was “tough”. When I tried to record her, having asked permission, she became violent & tried to snatch my phone. Please take your loved ones somewhere safe instead!
