A Charming Stay with Room for Improvement
My family and I recently spent four days at this historic hotel, drawn by its rich background and reputation. The property is impeccably clean, and the staff are incredibly gentle and hospitable. The service is courteous and attentive, reflecting the best of hospitality.
However, considering the hotel’s storied past, we expected a more inclusive and detailed approach to service. While breakfast was included, the quality fell short of our expectations. When I requested eggs sunny side up, slightly turned over, I received overcooked eggs with crispy edges instead. We later learned that the waiters, not trained chefs, were responsible for cooking, which seemed unusual for a hotel of this caliber. The excuse given was the lack of appropriate cookware, which felt inadequate for a property with such a prestigious history.
Another minor issue occurred during breakfast. As a parent of a three-year-old, I made a sandwich for my child and asked the waiter for napkins. To my surprise, he brought paper towels typically used in bathrooms. This oversight seemed out of place in a five-star establishment where attention to detail should be paramount.
Overall, while the hotel offers a beautiful and clean environment with gracious staff, there are areas where improvements are needed, particularly in the dining experience and attention to detail. I would love to return, hoping the management takes these feedback points to heart to enhance the guest
