They have a driftwood competition every year on the beach that leaves weird and wonderful designs. The beach is long and sandy and the sunsets were amazing. The restaurants gave a good choice of food and the plate sizes were large.

Hokitika gorge was absolutely amazing; a must for all travellers to the west coast. I've never experienced water that amazing!!!!!!!! I will be recommending the area to everyone I talk to.
