Biarritz is small but perfectly formed and it's also worth walking out the coastal path past the lighthouse to Anglet.

I had never been to this area and usually concentrate on the Riviera. Super affluent, lovely architecture and the beach (plage) was packed with surfers. Visit the lighthouse for sure

Although Biarritz having a reputation for faded elegance, it certainly has a young buzz about it and not as pompous/self important as in my recent past visits over 15 years. Certainly a step in the right direction.

No reflection on the hotel but I think Biarritz is a bit overrated and you can't walk dogs on the beach even if it's empty and rainy But much to do and plenty places to do it
