Riad Sun Week is excellent. The staff made considerable efforts to welcome me and make my stay pleasant. The morning breakfasts on the terrace are particularly wonderful. I've stayed at several riads in Morocco, and Sun Week does little things that make the stay extra special. For example, at breakfast, the egg is not a boiled egg (typical), but a scrambled egg that is seasoned. The honey and yogurt comes in a small glass with a slice of strawberry on top, unlike other riads where yogurt comes in a less environmentally friendly plastic container. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the breakfasts which came with eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, peanut butter, a selection of breads and jams and spreads, fresh orange juice, coffee, and mint tea.
I stayed in the standard room on the first floor, which has a lot of charm and history, especially the heavy, wooden double-doors that open onto the courtyard.
Rida, the owner and manager, was especially helpful and kind. He arranged for me to have a traditional dinner in the Riad: vegetarian tagine, a traditional salad, and for dessert a beautifully arranged fruit plate with honey. Rida arranged for me to visit an excellent hammam, where I received a fantastic gommage (scrub) and massage. He arranged for a car to take me to the train station and escorted me to the car and helped me with my bags. I cannot say enough about how much I appreciated the level of service he and his staff provided to make me feel truly special and welcome.
