I booked this hotel for my son and his friend. They were on a theme park trip tour and headed to King's Dominion. This hotel was close, so we chose it. I pre-paid the room. When they arrived at 10PM, the clerk said they had no reservation. They had the confirmation and called hotels.com who said they did have a reservation. Hotels.com even called the property. The clerk kept saying "no, no, no". I knew they would be arriving late and that is why I pre-paid. Obviously, the hotel gave their room away. After an hour and a half on the phone, hotels.com got them another room about five miles from the Econo lodge. Hotels.com paid for the second room however it really annoyed me that I had to pay Econo lodge because I could not get a refund when my son was denied the room. I am guessing the Econo lodge got paid double for the room. My son was exhausted and should not have had to deal with not having a room after it was prepaid!
