Charming and Comfortable
We were so charmed by this motel. From the friendly greeting when we checked in, to the smores by the bonfire, to the thoughtfulness of the staff who put towels on the motorcycles in the parking lot to wipe off the dew, we felt very cared for. If you're looking for modern, up-to-date everything, this is not the place for you. If you want a clean, charming, comfortable place to stay, don't pass this one up. Will definitely stay here again.

6/10 Good

Owner is trying.
The room was cheap, the host was great, she helped us with the TV/Cable, but the shower and the curtain was terrible, had black mold on it and we didn't shower because of that. Not a good breakfast selection, so we had to go out. I know they are trying, but could use updating in that room, pretty crowded and outdated, but clean sheets and great pillows!

Very quaint room. Quiet and restful. Comfortable bed. We had a delay earlier in the day and they were gracious enough to provide services for us after a late check in.

Mom and Pop Motel with a loving touch. It’s obvious the owners care about the condition of their property and the experience of their guests. I would choose this motel in a heartbeat over a named/national brand motel.

2/10 Poor

BEWARE!! NOT AS ADVERTISED! Dont let the words "en suite" fool you...it is only a crammed room and a bathroom. Dont let the word "breakfast " fool you. There was only coffee (but nothing for non-coffee people) and a tiny packaged danish. Worst of all, they rip you off for an "ADMIN FEE" on your credit card. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

This stay was better than most, the owners are wonderful and they have a camp fire every night with supplies for s'mores. It is definitely a family atmosphere when you stay here. It's a great way to meet new people, and who knows you may come away with some new friends.

Inexpensive but decent place to stay near island
We were just looking for an inexpensive motel to stay at after a day at Mackinac Island. This did the trick. The room wasn't fancy, we only had a queen-sized bed, and the breakfast menu was limited, to say the least, and wasn't available until 8:00 am so we didn't get to eat, but the place was clean and the woman running the desk was very friendly.

We were passing through, staying overnight. We arrived after midnight, but spoke to the office in advance, and got into our room easily and quickly upon arrival. Check-out process was very easy as well. Nice place, with a bonfire at night, and a small picnic area. Rooms were updated, nice decor, and had a mini fridge. Bathroom was small, and not as current as the room, but functional and got the job done. People working there were very nice!

great proprietors!
I enjoyed my stay at the Cedars Motel because the man and woman who run it are great! I should have done this review earlier when I remembered their names! They were very helpful anytime we needed help.

Very small room with an even smaller shower with no light and a dark shower. Pleasant employee. Breakfast was not the best
