Disappointing
I went tô Excellence Riviera Cancún Douro years ago was perfect, because of it i go tô another Excellence Hotel. Was disappointing. I take the Excellence Club, and do not value the money, the Club smelled bad and there was nothing tô eat with the drinks. Most of the restaurants have a common food. In fact the hotel is much expensive for the things it gives. Exception tô Heidi, that make the beach service and Vilma the manager of foods and drinks

It was disappointing at check in. We paid for an ocean front suite with rooftop pool. At check in we received an ocean view room. After 2 days they had the correct room for us. There was quite a different price difference but we have not be reimbursed! It is Lao a hassle to have to change rooms and wait for one to be ready to go into. Again, I feel we need money/ credit back on the building and room change.

This is a beautiful relaxing resort. It doesn’t have a ton of day time entertainment and at times feels too quiet. However, it’s so clean and the staff are great. They have a strange rule about men having to wear sleeved shirts in every restaurant except for the one by the beach. It’s strange because they don’t even allow it at the buffet or 2 other outdoor restaurants. It’s humid and hot, it’s a beach resort. Most men will be wearing tanks!

We are soo happy with our recent stay at Excellence Playa Mujeres! It’s our second time at an all include resort and we are very pleased with our stay here. Amazing food and options at this resort. We traveled with another couple and the wife was vegetarian, there were separate menus she could order from and had plenty of options! Our favorite restaurants were The Grill, Lobster House for dinner, and Spice for sushi! Room service was good for breakfast and nice so you could get ready for the beach/pool while eating. The drinks were sooo good and did not lack in the alcohol department! Lots of options too. From pina coladas, mojitos, old fashions, margaritas, martinis, and beer! The resort itself is very clean and has a refreshing feeling. Housekeeping kept our room so clean and stocked with clean towels, water, etc. Lots of pools, they didn’t feel overcrowded during our stay. While there was only 1 in-pool bar, staff served us drinks in the pools and were around very frequently. We never had to get out and go to a bar to get a drink. Even by the beach, servers came around and we could order drinks from them! Cons: Biggest complaint was that we were not allowed our own pool floaties. At the other resort we went to, pool floats were allowed. I enjoy relaxing in the pool with a float so this was upsetting to me. The resort does have a very limited amount of provided pool floats but guests can only use those and not your own. As you can imagine, they were a hot commodity and

My Wife and I have been to this resort twice now and will be returning many times more. The food, drinks, pools, amenities, and beach are incredible. By far though, the biggest positive and most favored portion of the trip was the workers. They are absolutely incredible. They always ensure you have everything you need. They are so kind and excited you came to the resort. I highly suggest seeing Gabreil and Marlene at el sol, the poolside bar that also has amazing pizza. Marlene is incredibly quick behind the bar and always has a smile on her face. Very good bartender. Super grateful for our stay and highly recommend. We have no complaints!

My husband and I stayed at this resort for a few nights. While our room was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly, there were a few aspects of our stay that could have been better. Once we got to our room, we encountered issues with the temperature. It wouldn't drop below 70°F, so we had to call for assistance. Even after adjusting it, the room remained uncomfortably warm, making it difficult to do makeup, get ready, and, worst of all, sleep. We endured some extremely hot nights. We were placed on the fourth floor, but unfortunately, the elevator near our room was out of service for most of our stay. This meant we had to walk up and down four flights of stairs multiple times a day. The entertainment at the resort was another disappointment. The shows were not at all what was advertised on the website, which promised fun, exciting, and spectacular performances. Instead, we were met with unimpressive beatboxing, unchoreographed dancers who seemed to have practiced the night before, and a silent disco that ran out of headphones for anyone arriving 30 minutes late. Lastly, we took a boat trip to Isla Mujeres that felt like a bit of a scam.For $244 we only snorkeled for about 10 minutes and had a subpar lunch. The island itself was underwhelming, with everything overpriced and clearly catering to tourists. Overall, this resort seems more suited for an older crowd. While there were some positives, our experience was marred by several inconveniences and disappointments.
