The hotel boasts beautiful landscaping and architectural features in its common areas, promising a luxurious stay. Despite the attentive service from the wait staff, notably Freddy, and the breakfast servers, our overall experience was marred by a significant issue: a lack of running water for two consecutive nights, starting from 10 PM. This unexpected inconvenience greatly detracted from our enjoyment and comfort during our stay. What compounded our frustration was the indifference of the reception to address the problem adequately. Their offer of $32 compensation for the inability to perform basic hygiene tasks, such as flushing the toilet or showering after a long day, felt grossly inadequate given the circumstances.
Moreover, the maintenance of the hotel fell short of expectations for a five-star establishment, with noticeable areas in need of upkeep.
Although the breakfast, featuring delicious local Belizean cuisine, was a highlight, the absence of local options for lunch or dinner was disappointing. The restaurant staff demonstrated a level of service that was truly five-star.
Please note, the lack of an in-room phone system necessitating communication via WhatsApp. For people who are not familiar with it, you’ll need to download the app.
Lastly, the exorbitant charge for airport transfers, triple the local rate, was another disappointment, despite the exceptional service provided by our driver Eddy.
In summary, I would not recommend this hotel.
