Lovely cottage stay
Lovely stay. The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Vicky was always on hand when needed and communication was great - super quick! Loved coming outside to the chickens and seeing the horses when we arrived. We had a really nice stay and would definitely recommend/return!

Cosy in a quiet beauty spot
Very comfortable and sooo much food, theres a weekly shop in the kitchen! Only down side was the no dogs upstairs rule. Some hygiene issues in the kitchen but nothing serious. Area is incredible, very scenic and beautiful. Also very quiet, you can hear a pin drop at night which is restful. The track to the farm is single track and rough in parts, one to note for anyone with a sports car. Glad I came in a 4x4.

We had a lovely couple of nights stay here for our anniversary. The host was friendly and helpful and there was a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere all around. The property is cozy and comfortable with more or less everything you need. We appreciated the fans provided as we had quite warm weather for our stay. Probably one of the best things was the quality and quantity of the breakfast items provided. When we arrived we had intended to go back out to find a supermarket but it was getting late and so we chose to make a meal using the sausages and eggs provided, and still had plenty of options for breakfast for the rest of the stay. We did 2 walks while we were there, one from the lovely village of Hartington which followed the river for a good portion of the route. This was beautiful. The other walk we did from the property up to join a circular walk around Robin Hood’s stride. There were so many options for walking if this is your thing and an OS map will prove very helpful. We had no phone signal there but the Wi-Fi was reliable. I’d recommend having physical maps to hand when out and about. We had one situation where we couldn’t load the satnav and had to navigate back the old fashioned way. All part of the fun so long as you’re prepared! We have recommended this place to our family and would be happy to return ourselves.

Great breakfast in lovely cottage
Had a whole holiday cottage to myself for the price of a hotel room. Really generous and varied breakfast provisions, with spacious kitchen and dining area to enjoy it in. With a washing machine and airer in the property, I was able to get a load of washing done overnight, as the cottage was really warm. The only negative was the WiFi, which I found very poor, and phone signal is limited too.

Lovely rural cottage
Stayed for a couple of nights for a peaceful and relaxing couple of days, arrived to be treated by the owner on a working farm with lots of lambs and hens around. Inside was lovely and clean, well equipped and lots of goodies supplied for us. We had 2 nights of lovely peace and relaxation as we wanted. Nice to talk to the wildlife and have a bench of hens, turkeys and other birds right outside our front door. Will definitely return in the future and highly recommend if you want a rural peaceful retreat.

A Rural Oasis
I stayed here whilst house hunting and it was a heartening surprise. It was a spur-of-the-moment booking and came just before the start of the Easter season, so was highly competitive. It's off the beaten track but I managed to find it using an OS map, so sat-nav users should be okay. That said, mobile phone reception drops to virtually nothing around the area of farm, so be prepared! The building has been nicely converted and is tastefully decorated without being kitsch or fussy. I was amused to find that breakfast had been left in the kitchen: sausage, bacon, eggs, yoghurts, cereals, milk, butter for six people for at least two days, far too much for just one of me to eat. Dinner most nights was sausages . . . There is a dishwasher (I prefer doing them by hand) and a washing machine (which I used having got very muddy one day). Although mobile phone signal is negligible at best (stronger signal in the field up the lane), the internet is robust and fast. If you like your coffee, you might want to bring your own coffee press with you. There was some wet and wild weather when I was there (as well as sunshine) and the place was warm and cosy even as the wind whistled outside and felt more like a home than it did a holiday let. The turkeys are numerous and curious and friendly (don't be put off by Trevor and his displays of status, he's only kidding himself) and the farm and yard evoke strong feelings of a Ladybird book from the 1950's. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Vicky was very welcoming. It was lovely to be in such a rural location, delightful to see the turkeys and chickens wandering around the farmyard. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped, the beds and sofas great. Good to have a proper dining room table as well. Breakfast options were plentiful, with a varied selection to suit all tastes. We’d love to visit again.

Couple Stay in January
Booked for a quiet couples get away in the Peak District and it was absolutely perfect. Ideal accomodation for what we wanted, and we had the place all to ourselves. Great kitchen facilities, open plan lounge area was really nice, lovely bathroom and bedroom was comfy too. Wasn't too far to drive to places to go for walks, and other attractions either. Would definitely recommend
