Overall a nice hotel in a quiet area. It is very rural so if the smells of the countryside bother you, then consider carefully as it backs on to fields of cows and sheep. It is also a dog-friendly hotel and there was a slight aroma of our canine friends, but not in the room or bar etc.
Good parking areas, rooms was quite large and comfortable. Powerful and warm shower.Very quiet village, no other bars, etc. So be prepared to drive or just use the hotel's amenities.
Staff were good, except one very rude member. On arrival I was met by a very unwelcoming lady, who could not find my booking and had to shout to someone else to help, with no apology for the confusion and I wanted to order a meal at 8.55pm and was told in no uncertain terms by the same person that they had stopped doing food, even though the restaurant advertised as being open till 9.00pm and said member of staff had just given a table of six their menus
The one time I did eat in the restaurant, the food was very good and the staff were attentive and polite.
I would stay here again for the tranquility from a tough day, but hopefully get a slightly better reception and better service.
