Low budget hotel
You will not find any luxury in here. Tough bed and small (tiny) belows, small size room, and small bathroom, the sink does not have sewer air trap but they've mothballs to change the smell. The water pressure is low, but you can have shower. Room is cleaned by request. The hotel located perfectly near shops, transportation, and main street. This is a good hotel for a person with very limited budget.

The rooms I believe are for the red light district
Worst customer service. They actually stole our moneymoney from us and from Expedia, because they would not let a biracial couple stay in the room. Yet, they lied and said they would refund my credit card and still did not! The rooms were disgusting and I'm not even trying to speak bad about the hotel. There were dead bugs and flys all over the sheets and under the pillow cases and you could tell either they dusted all over everything or they recycle the sheets from the next guest, because of the dirt marks ans hair. I'm sure it's a quiet place to sleep, but for the price, I would rather stay at a hostel for better care! and smarter bees in the hive if you want to make a reference towards the staff. Very unprofessional. The guy kept us waiting for 1 hour!!! Kept saying his boss had to look at the passports and then he comes and says he is racist and doesn't allow half breeds to rent there. Wow India! I thought we moved from the dark ages, esp when low caste hotel staff is jealous!

Simple, basic and ok for the price
Everest Hotel is intriguingly described on its card as "the budget executive hotel". Well, it's very basic - there is a room and a bed, shared bathroom, and breakfast is a piece of bread, omelette and tea. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The wifi works well and that was a good feature. Nothing special but just ok in a city that has expensive accommodation everywhere. It worked well for me because it was very near where I needed to be for a conference. There are also many cafes and restaurants, and other shops & services nearby, the neighbourhood is very good and a cool environment to be in.

Wouldn't recommend
We found the hotel and the lift looked as though it was about to break although it did actually work. We went in and the room that we had booked wasn't available so they downgraded us. We asked for them to give us the difference in price and they said they couldn't until after we had stayed in the room. The room had air conditioning but it was incredibly loud. There was complimentary breakfast but they weren't able to do the toast that had put on the menu and when we got the tiny sandwich, we found a fly's wing in it. Overall we were able to sleep but apart from that it wasn't all that great.

This "Hotel" has it all...bed bugs and rats
Seriously, this place has all the bad things you don't want to see in a hotel. My first night, all I could smell was what I thought was roach spray, turns out it was bed bug spray. I saw one crawl out of my bag. And then when I was in the lobby a rat came in from outside. Needless to say this was all I could take. I threw away all my clothes and suitcase, as I got bed begs once 10 years ago on trip but didn't know it. I had to get rid of all my furniture and books. So, it you value your peace of mind over a budget room, don't stay here. Hotels in Mumbai are a bit pricey, especially for India, but I guess if you want even a decent place you have to pay much more for it.

Not the best place you want to be
Didn't enjoy the stay in the hotel. The rooms are very small. The first room we were offered had no window, and the one we finally stayed in had a very small window with wiews to what seemed to be an open-air junk room. Breakfast is included, but is not worth it at all. There's only a bathroom for all the guests to use. Summing up, it's too expensive for what you get.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at!
I have stayed in over 100 hotels of varying star ratings to qualify that I'm not over exaggerating. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. They lied to the people checking in before me and then lie to me about room availability. They gave me a room with no bathroom and big holes in the walls. I asked for another room and they told me there would be one available in a few hours. I went back several times and kept pushing me off for longer and longer until it was very late at night. The sheets had hair and other matter on them. Hotels.com couldn't get a hold of the front desk even though I was right next to them hearing the phone ring. I luckily got my money back and transferred to Apollo Hotel which was fantastic down the street. As I was leaving they were pulling the same line with other guests checking in. Total scam!

The hotel is at a fine location, the quality is so/so, but otherwise reasonable. I would recommend but the staff makes it extremely difficult to have some peace of mind. Particularly after having to deal with the amount of scammers, beggars and noise outside, an amount of peace is an absolute minimum for a mid/range to budget style hotel. Upon entrance, we're given a tour through the tiny (but decent) room - offered assistance with unpacking (refused), but gave a rather large tip despite. He pouts, which turns out to be the beginning of a horrible relationship. Breakfasts are complimentary, but there's no area, so they are offered as roomservice. It is, however, tiny, takes about half an hour, and stone cold. First morning, I overtip, and he pouts, but goes away. Second morning, I overtip less, but give the value of about half the breakfast - which, would otherwise have been free - and he bluntly tells me "not enough". I disagree and nervously explain the breakfast should be free anyway. That evening, he suggests I will give an extortionate amount in the morning. Why? No, I check out tomorrow, I tell him - and indeed don't even consider asking for the free breakfast the next morning. After checking out, he insists on standing with us in the one person lift, tells me that he will never forget me, such wonderful generous people, with a certain buttery delivery. But then, after I refuse tipping, he follows us down the street! I say goodbye and suggest to perhaps clean the room sometimes.

Hotel from Hell
I arrived at 3.30 a.m., to be told, despite my booking, that the hotel was full. There was no apology, and I have learned since that they do this regularly. They counted this as my first night's stay, despite the fact that it was nearly 6 a.m. when I got a bed, and they had presumably been paid by whoever occupied my room that night. Eventually they showed me to a toilet, but I wasn't offered so much as a glass of water. They then woke me at 10.30 a.m. to return my passport. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this hotel. I had been travelling for two days, and had got up at 5.15 a.m. on 8th January. As I am 69 years old, it takes me a little while longer to recover from such ordeals, and I prefer to avoid them. The hotel seems to be inhabited by an odd selection of people, and I did not feel very safe there.
