Beautiful Hotel With Too Many Flaws
My wife and I have been to Milwaukee for personal trips six times, and I have been there for business one time. I love the city, its history, the fact that they don't destroy their old buildings, and how drivable it is. I will be coming back to Milwaukee again in the future, but I will not be staying at The Brewhouse Inn ever again, unfortunately. I do not write bad reviews as a principal, but I felt honesty was needed in this case.
Pros
-The front desk greeted us at the front desk and even poured us some PBR at check-in.
-The lobby and surrounding public areas are beautiful.
-The coffee in the lobby is delicious, both regular and decaf. The complimentary pastries are also a nice touch.
-The attached restaurant offers good food and service.
Cons
-PARKING. Unless you do the $40 valet, the parking situation is absolutely abysmal, much like the rest of Milwaukee, but it should not be this bad at a hotel. We had to park three blocks away at one point. There are two-hour limits during the week, which is just awful. There is even a parking lot between the buildings that was completely empty during our stay.
-Our room was above the restaurant, which played music until at least midnight every night. We couldn't relax in our room and had to sleep with earplugs.
-The fitness room is just a cardio room.
Alternative Recommendations
-Fairfield Inn Downtown (amazing parking)
-Pfister (older but good)
-Hilton Garden
-Hyatt Regency
