The rooms are kind of updated. One spot that definitely is NOT updated was the bathroom (minus the flooring). The fixtures were probably 40 years old but still worked fine. I did find a couple of random hairs left behind but I paid $56 a night. Other than that, the room was clean.
The common areas look pretty rough and smell strongly of cigarette smoke, but it's not a big deal as you're in them for like 30 seconds coming in and out your room.
They also allow pets with no extra fee, which is a big plus since not many hotels in the area offer that.
It's not a great place to stay but it's cheap, adequate, and fit my needs. I would stay here again if it came up. Just manage your expectations relative to the price you pay. It's not going to be as nice as a place that costs $200 a night, so don't expect it to be.
