Older establishment. With that being said, it was clean, comfortable and exactly what we were looking for while we were only there for one night to pick ip our new puppy. I would recommend this place, but if your looking for a high end with all the amenities then its probably not for you. Realize you will be in country. No high-rise or Trump towers anywhere in sight. We did not use the breakfast buffet.

You can do better.
Really cramped bathroom. Motel probably built in 50s or 60s. Dated, timeworn. Not beachfront, could barely see the lake through trees. Very small breakfast area with meager offerings. Only eggs offered were hard boiled, no meat, no fruit. Killed a roach that was crawling on the ceiling of our room.

The hotel was clean and a great location. I had a view of Lake Huron from my balcony and access from the hotel. The rooms are a little outdated and could use some TLC, but once again very clean and relatively comfortable. For the price point I thought it was a great stay and would stay again if in the area.

Beautiful views, very friendly and clean property
This was the cleanest hotel I have stayed at. They take pride in their property, even though it might be a little dated. Beautiful views. Saw an elk.

Some quirks but definitely worth the stay!
A lovely older motel with wooden balcony views of Lake Huron and beach access a very short walk from the motel. Things were clean but slightly sparse (coverlets were too short, but at the end of my stay, I found another blanket in the drawer, which I'd wished I'd known about earlier! :-). The mini shampoo provided wasnt enough for my hair and left it waxy feeling. No conditioner. Soap bar felt waxy on my skin too...(Just notes for how to improve, but certainly did NOT mar my stay there at all!) I loved sitting on the wooden balcony chairs provided to watch the freighters move through the lake. The sliding glass door didn't lock and the makeshift jambing system didn't either, so check this before you leave the room. For a single woman, I felt a bit unsafe at night as a result. The staff, especially Katie, were really lovely, friendly and kind! I would recommend anyone on a budget renting here. Breakfast is continental and I think there was an indoor pool on site too. Overall, I was very happy with my stay and would come back again!

Pros and cons but I'd stay here again!
Pros: amazing view, easy walk to the beach, paved walking path along water, comfortable beds, lots of hot water, friendly staff, waterfront restaurant next door, walking distance to town, and reasonable rates. Cons: Badly in need of updates. Carpet old and dingy, table in our room was broken but stayed upright leaning against the wall, has that old musty smell but that cleared up once we opened the sliding doors, the balcony looks as if the wood is going bad, however it seemed safe and sturdy enough, when you sit on the balcony though you can't see the water very well because of the wide boards used for the railing- we actually had a better water view sitting back farther in the room and looking out the doors. Having said that, I also appreciated that it wasn't a big modern high rise - the older quaintness held a certain charm and I loved the peacefulness of the area.

4/10 Fair

Yes, it’s old but it was fairly clean. However, when checking in, I was asked if we would mind just one set of towels! No, there are two people! The bed was flimsy, bouncy and the smallest queen size ever. The pillow was very thin. Once we finally got a second set of towels, I noticed they were small and thin. They were clean.

Our room was fine for what we purchased, it was a good spot to sleep. The food nearby was somewhat limited and the townsfolk seemed unwelcoming. Lots of weird stares while we tried to eat our mediocre dinner. No staff on site after 7, although there is a number to contact if needed. The location is beautiful, we loved walking around the beach! Definitely recommend if you want a cheap, one night stay on the beach. Would not recommend for longer stays.
