The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The room was very spacious and clean. Breakfast was full service and included in room cost. Very nice facilities and excellent staff!

The hotel front desk did not want to let me pay using a credit card and they did not want to honor the USD price I had locked in at the time of reservation. They insisted I needed to pay 1 USD to 4 Sol, despite that not being the conversion, and said their credit card device was suddenly not working. Then in the morning when we went to check out, the door handle was off the exterior door and we could not leave the building. We had to pound on the glass door loudly to get someone's attention. Their only response was that the door handle fell off - they did not seem concerned that we were locked inside.

OK. Limited WiFi. Spanish speaking staff.
Overall stay was OK. We were placed in a separate building than the main hotel so our room did not have WiFi. We also had a problem during our stay where our door handle broke. It took a couple of tries for the Hotel to fix the door. And finally, staff members barely speak English. This wasn't a problem for our stay as we had Spanish speakers, but this is something to take into consideration.

Good location near the train station and plaza. The room is clean and spacious, they have hot water for baths/showers. The staff are all very nice; they took care of my requests such as extra towels. One lady even helped me contct my next hotel in Cusco to arrange a taxi pickup from Poroy. I think wifi is poor, but i got a local sim with unlimited data so this is not a problem for me. A lot cheaper too than roaming from US. Highly recommended!

Lovely hotel and staff, some street noise
The hotel room was a nice size. It was clean, comfortable and modern. Staff was hospitable and helpful, even offering to bring my bag down to the train station in the afternoon so that I wouldn’t have to come back to the hotel after visiting Machu Picchu. The only drawback was that our room was on the street and there was some annoying street noise at bedtime.

Hotel Wayman in October
Good enough because it was clean and the breakfast was very good. The rooms were quite small though the pictures made the space seemed roomier that actual. Location was very convenient to the baths, food, and shopping. I’d stay here again but I’d rather pay much less than I did.

Good choice for an expensive town
Modern hotel with great breakfast in the morning, within walking distance of the train station and Machu Picchu bus stop. Staff was helpful and even more so if you speak some Spanish. My only complaint would be the noise, it is not sound proofed very well, you can hear everything outside, in the halls and if you are on the 5th floor, upstairs in the restaurant. I'm a very sound sleeper and I even had a tough time, would pack ear plugs !

Average hotel at an average price!
Yes we were given free Pisco sours on the first night of our stay. No we did not sleep well. The hall lights shine into the window above your door so it is never dark. There is no insulation so while we were booked into room 403 we could hear all the tour groups arrive at night and leave before dawn. We were the only senior citizens at the hotel and yet that gave us the two rooms beside the elevator. Also we paid for two nights in advance and were only given one towel. When I complained he gave me one more towel. So I guess two towels for two nights is the limit. The desk clerk does not have great English and we were given another persons bill, so be careful. The top floor restaurant and bar does not have much of a view.

The staff was accommodating, but the rooms were noisy. I had to hang towels up over a window that looked into my room from the hallway so that other guests could not see in my room.

10 minute walk to/from train
Hotel Waman is a comfy modern hotel with a great staff in Aguas Calientes (AC). Rooms are compact but comfortable and clean. The staff was wonderfully helpful and wanted us to be ready for our trek to Machu Picchu (MP). They even packed a breakfast/lunch for us to take from the hotel when we left at 5 AM. They held our luggage while we traveled to MP and we picked it up in the afternoon. Found the best restaurant in AC: it is Inka Wasi. It was a bit expensive, but one has to celebrate surviving MP. Inka Wasi is down the hill from Hotel Waman towards the central square of AC. The hot baths in AC are a great way to relax and savor the moment of seeing and surviving MP. The baths are up hill from the hotel and are about a 20 minute hike up hill at the end of AC. One thing I was surprised by was the hotel wanted to receive the payment there and my credit card only provided a reservation. For a usual reservation through Orbitz they take my credit card information and Orbitz pays them directly. This was a bit different. They wanted me to pay at the hotel. I checked on the that was what my receipt said so I paided them in AC. They provided Wi-Fi in the rooms and a separate internet computer in the lobby.

Broken shower head. The next building over is very close and the curtains don't entirely block the view into your room. Friendly staff, I'm not too picky with hotels but I'd skip this one next time for sure

Clean hotel but pricey
We had a nice friendly staff picked us up from the train station. It was helpful because it would be quite difficult to find it on our own especially it was in a small alley up in the hill. However, the lobby should provide some water for guests. There was a water jar and I thought we could have some after the long hike from train station but the staff said it was for another group. We had a room with 3 beds but they only gave us 2 small water bottles. Where's the 3rd? Finally, when the big group left with some water in the water jar in the lobby, we had to beg for some water from the staff as we just climbed down from Machu Picchu. The hotel is concerned about conserving their water. The breakfast was good.

Great hotel
Our stay at Waman hotel was great. We arrived around 11pm tired from our long journey there. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They gave us great information on how and where to buy our tickets and bus passes for Machu. The room was small but perfect for it needs. The shower was great and the complementary breakfast was perfect in the morning as they started service at 4:30am. We really enjoyed our short stay.
