I love this place SO MUCH! It's such a hidden gem, the Uber driver actually had to ask a young boy where it was, even though we were about 50 feet from the property. (It shares space with a kitesurf shop. Just look for the gear hanging on the wall.) Heavenly private!
I was skeptical that such an inexpensive room could actually have a view of the ocean, but they were telling the truth. Five minutes after checking in, I was swinging in my own hammock, hanging from the walls of the veranda outside my room. Walk out of your room and your toes will be in the sand within about 45 seconds. Again, heavenly.
The room has everything you could ask for—including toiletries, a mini bar, a delicate little fan, mosquito netting, plush bedding, comfortable mattress—and even something you could probably do without in paradise: a flatscreen TV.
Sounds divine, right? But I haven't even talked about the best part yet: the people. Gloria will take care of your every need. She brought me a delicious dinner (fresh fish), served a beautiful breakfast the next morning, took care of getting me a cab and paid him the fare. She was so patient re: my lack of Spanish—we used Google translate, on my phone—and helped me pay for everything with a credit card, since I was low on cash.
And, if Gloria has already gone home for the night, Yolanda will take up the slack. Honestly, you couldn't ask for friendly, more helpful staff.
I can't wait to go back. I'm already looking at my calendar...
