10 Best Places to Go Shopping in Pratunam

Platinum Fashion Mall is a specialised megamall for clothing and fashion accessories in Pratunam. It takes the flea market concept indoors, with over 1,000 tightly packed stores occupying the 4-storey complex. The best part of shopping here is the wholesale price – you’ll save more buying in larger quantities (3 and above). Platinum Fashion Mall is within a 10-minute walk from the Ratchathewi and Chidlom BTS Skytrain Stations.

Pantip Plaza is dedicated to computers, IT gadgets and cameras. Some of the camera shops carry hard-to-find lenses and accessories. Along with small trading stalls, there are also 2 anchor stores: Hardware House on the mezzanine level and IT City covering the whole of the top floor. The mall’s main draw is the price, though the quality can be a hit or miss, especially for software and computer parts.

Pratunam Market is a major market in Bangkok selling clothes, shoes, and fashion accessories at wholesale prices. Enter the small alleys and jam-packed small streets and you’ll find yourself in the middle of a clothes-maze. Prices are very cheap, and most shops offer retail prices for single pieces. Located at the intersection of Ratchaprop and Petchburi roads (next to the Amari Watergate Bangkok hotel), Pratunam Wholesale Market is filled with shops and tiny stalls flowing over to the sidewalks and extending to Baiyoke Towers I and Baiyoke Towers II on Ratchaprarop Soi 3.

Shibuya Pratunam Shopping Mall in Bangkok (Shibuya 19) is a 6-storey complex selling fashionable clothes for ladies and gents at discount prices. The stalls at Shibuya are loosely arranged around themes such as fashion, bags and shoes, with the majority of the mall dedicated to women’s fashion. You can easily find the mall on the corner of Petchburi Road Soi 19 in the Pratunam district – it’s a 10-minute walk from either Ratchatewi or Chit Lom BTS Station.

The Palladium World Shopping Mall in Bangkok is one of Pratunam’s largest complexes, where you can shop for clothes and accessories at wholesale prices. Located on the corner of Phetchaburi Road and Ratchaprarop, this 5-storey building is within walking distance of Pratunam Market, Pantip Plaza and Platinum Mall. 

The Palladium World Shopping Mall follows a bazaar-like layout, with long alleyways of tightly-packed stalls. You can stock up on great value basics such as shoes, T-shirts, pashminas, and beachwear at far lower prices than most Bangkok shopping malls.

Baiyoke Gallery Fashion Mall (B-Gallery) is a modern and spacious mall in the very centre of Pratunam. The 5-storey building contains mostly independent retailers specialising in clothing and accessories. The entire place feels a bit like an air-conditioned, roomier extension of the better-known Pratunam Market. 

Novel features like the fake grass lawn, an English post box, and bright designs draw similarities to the larger and more popular Terminal 21 on Sukhumvit Road. Bargaining is advisable, though most of the prices on dresses, T-shirts, accessories and electronics are quite cheap.

City Complex Pratunam has 6 floors of clothes, shoes, fabrics, accessories for ladies, along with a handful of T-shirt and jeans stores for the guys. If you’re bored of the rows and rows of almost identical stalls, head to the food court on the 5th floor to enjoy cheap Thai dishes. 

City Complex Pratunam is just opposite Platinum Fashion Mall – you can get there by walking along Phetchaburi Road (if you’re coming from the Chit Lom BTS Skytrain Station), walk up past CentralWorld, and use one of the flyovers over Phetchaburi Road.

Baiyoke Tower Garment Centre is a shopping arcade selling cheap clothes and accessories. If you’re visiting/staying in the Baiyoke Tower and want to do a spot of bargain hunting, this small market-like area is a particularly convenient choice. Prices are dirt cheap and if you’re buying in bulk, you’re sure to be able to negotiate a discount. Baiyoke Tower Garment Centre is also home to a few tailors, with prices starting from around 800 baht for a custom-made shirt.

Indra Square Mall offers a range of clothing, accessories, shoes and bags at bargain prices. It's a good place to buy souvenirs, wholesale items and clothing at cheap prices. Most of the mall's shoppers are Thais who buy in bulk to take them back to their shops. The shopping mall is surrounded by Pratunam Market, which is open 24 hours, and the stalls line the different entrances to Indra Square.

Krung Thong Plaza is often regarded as a forgotten goldmine of cheap and quirky clothing in Pratunam. You can get there by walking along on Phetchaburi Road or via an overhead bridge which links directly from Pantip Plaza IT Mall across the street. Once inside, you’ll be greeted by a mishmash of run-down stores selling brightly coloured fabrics, shirts with slogans strewn across, and plenty of snazzy accessory stores selling funky hats, sunglasses and jewellery. Prices, just like the standard of upkeep at Krung Thong Plaza, are low – even lower if you try your hand at bargaining.
