When visiting Koko Crater Botanical Gardens, visitors are advised to bring their own water and wear appropriate walking shoes, as the trail is uneven in parts. Additionally, the Koko Crater Botanical Garden only has a portable toilet. Dogs, bicycles, and motorised vehicles are not allowed.
Just a mile and a half away, you can also visit the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, a wildly popular spot for snorkelling, or take a hike on the Koko Crater Railway Trail, which takes hikers up a steep trail that follows a defunct railway track and rewards them with sweeping city and ocean views at the top.
