Arrived, checked in and asked about free WiFi offer, requested a quiet room and given room next to (almost inside) elevator. Didn’t unpack as the clicks and whooshes were obvious and returned to the desk, saw someone else who said the room we were given is known to be bad. WiFi wasn’t attached to our room, which she redid and offered a room with a balcony “away from noise”. Went to room, Quick Look and it was OK. Came back after some (well overpriced) dinner in Hanger 18 (that turned up late and was stone cold) and heard some mechanical noise/buzz that was horrendous in the room and even louder on the pillow. Not only that, we noticed that the “blackout” curtains didn’t pull all across (left a huge gap that meant the room was practically lit all night) and the door to the balcony had large gaps to the outside. Add to that the huge amounts of cobwebs and nasty dust everywhere (especially what came out of the AC) and the hotel is definitely not worth the money. Told the girl at the lobby about all this and she didn’t even say sorry. I explained issues and managed to get a $30 discount knocked off the bill, but that was also given only after a push and begrudgingly. Basically there are way better LAX properties out there and way cheaper and where the staff are not so arrogant and rude, so avoid!
