Simon and Lorraine were very welcoming hosts and us feel at home during our short stay. The B&B is situated on a quiet residential road near the town centre with parking avaible on the roadside. We found our room well furnished, clean and spacious with a good ensuite bathroom. One can choose from a variety of breakfast items including full English, porridge, etc, all freshly prepared in the morning. Simon and Lorraine do a great job running their guesthouse and long may that continue.

Dorchester house is such a lovely place to stay! With cozy interior and a beautiful dining room, it's just as being invited home to Lorraine and Simon. Dorcester House is such a gem, as are the hosts Lorraine and Simon. The location is perfect for getting anywhere and yet it's on a lovely, quiet street. Excellent breakfasts with a nice variety. Porridge with whisky butter is to die for! One of our best UK stays.

The owners were extremely pleasant and helpful, and provided a wonderful breakfast. The room was a bit small, and the bathroom might present some problems for an obese guest. Fortunately, we are both small people, and had no problems at all! The town is fascinating, with access to a beautiful lake and walks, many pubs, and interesting shops.

Amazing place to stay
I stayed at Dorchester house with my auntie for 2 nights, really lovely place. Very well kept and spotless throughout. Lorraine and Simon made us feel welcome from the second we arrived. Really lovely couple. The rooms had everything you would need for the stay, beds were comfortable, as the weather was hot a fan was provided. Breakfast was delicious, excellent quality and good selection. There is seating in the front garden to sit in the fresh air. Excellent location as it is only a few minutes walk into the town centre and about10-15 minute walk to derwentwater lake, beautiful place. I would 100% stay again and would recommend it.

Cheeky Weekend
We received a lovely warm welcome from Lorraine & Simon on our arrival. Our room was immaculate, extremely comfortable bed and plentiful tea/coffee facilities. Bathroom well stocked with toiletries and the fluffiest towels ever! Breakfast was perfect to set you up for the day’s activities with choices of fresh fruits yogurt cereals and of course the Full English cooked just as you like it! We booked on a whim as had Tesco vouchers due to expire so chose Dorchester House through Hotels.com with Tesco Rewards so go on treat yourself to a stay here 😉 Thank you to Lorraine & Simon for a great weekend we’ll see you again for sure.
