This building is a bit outdated and needs work, but overall it was clean and enjoyable. What made this hotel exceptional was the kindness and friendliness of its staff. The front desk, hospitality staff, and the maintenance staff. We had an issue with our door all weekend where maintenance had to come by several times to reprogram the lock. Despite this annoyance, they were prompt and friendly. One staff member in particular, Mrs. Shaleeza Rios in the restaurant, deserves special recognition. We had an issue with my daughter's meal which she could not finish because 1. she is an 8 year old child and 2. she has medical gastric issues. The "restaurant manager" had a nasty attitude, no empathy whatsoever, and was unwilling to understand that an 8 year old could not finish her meal and wanted to take the remainder to go. They do not allow items to be taken out of the restaurant under any circumstances. I agree with the policy that you cannot take away buffet items taking meals and items to go (even though you have to pay for breakfast as it is not included). What I am referring to is opened items which my daughter had half eaten already and were going to be thrown away anyway. Mrs. Shaleeza had the empathy that the restaurant manager LACKED. She was very kind and he needs a customer service training. Considering the number of hotels in the UCF area that include tasty free/included buffet breakfast, this restaurant may want to reconsider their policy to remain competitive.
